I'm definitely going to put in some DB killers. But yeah, at the track it's gonna sing!

Were you able to get the exhaust tips adjusted so they fit correctly?

In my application everything fit pretty good.

Judge for yourself:

In that one YouTube video the shop installed that kid's exhaust and the tips didn't seem to line up correctly. I bet they didn't wait until the end before tightening everything which is a huge no-no. In my side business I get customer service calls all the time about guys saying things don't line up and the first thing I ask them is "Did you fit everything hand tight before applying final torque?" and they're like "uhhhhhh. " hahaha

Once we mounted the whole axle back we were able to rotate things to get it close. I will say that one of the muffler tips had the threaded fastener welded on kind of weird and off center, but it didn't prevent it from being tightened.

Any drone? Their website implies that there is.

"while the Helmholtz resonator version will help with the typical exhaust drone"

Lots of drone. My next move is to grab these cheap universal resonators off of Amazon and weld them in near the mid-pipe where the secondary cats were.

but before I do anything else I'm waiting to see if my boyz in Australia can fabricate an E-valve for me so I can control it from a button in the cabin.

I wish you sincere luck with the drone. It is my understanding that it's all about sound waves and having them redirected to cancel them out. Resonators are good for modifying tone. I am interested in seeing how they help with your needs. Keep us posted. It does sound cool!

Thanks! For sure I'll keep this thread alive. I'll post some vid from the track this coming Monday and also what I decide to do with the resonators / E-valve DB killer.

Honestly, since I track this car primarily, the drone doesn't bother me. If I was trying to impress the chick with the 36", 24", 38" measurements then nah, this car would not be it. hahahaha

The drone seems like it doesn't happen at every rpm tho. I mean you could legit cruise at 60mph at under 2,500rpm and reduce the drone to the bare minimum.

NG - Any concerns about db limits at the track? I'm not sure about the courses around us, but I've heard some tracks have 100 or 105 db limits. Your car is certainly louder than that!

Great question and that was also a concern of mine.

I primarily ride at NJMP and the noise requirements there is that the decibel limit is 80db in surrounding residential areas. The nearest residential area is 1 mile away.

I have a Ninja H2 Supercharged motorcycle that I've run there for years and fully uncorked it is 120db. My ZL1 is probably in that territory now so it should be fine for NJMP. There's no official DB limit that I could find anywhere on the track but I was able to research the zone requirements.
