Wink 18' Zl1 hood on 21' SS

Hi guys,

I am planning to get a zl1 OEM hood with cf insert from a 2018zl1, however, I don't know how off it would fit on my 21 ss. has anybody done that before and drop some pics?
Also, Idk if I should keep saving and get a real cb copo style hood later....

It will not. The ZL1 uses different fenders and you will have fitment/clearance issues along with gaps

That does not look good, something is off. As previously mention, track width is different on the ZL1 - same reason you can't just swap on a OEM ZL1 front bumper to a non-ZL1.

It fits fine. I'm not sure how it'll look on the 2019+ bumper, though. I needed to adjust the hood latch as well as the usual adjustments at the arms. I'm using an IKON ZL1 front bumper and stock OEM non-ZL1 fenders.

Nah that hood gap is huge. I would not be happy with that at all.

It isn't just height, the lines between the hood and the bumper/fenders don't even track completely, thus the gap is uneven.

The gap is barely noticeable in day to day life, but, to each their own. The lines against the fenders are perfect, not sure what you are seeing there. The only spot there is any issue is the small spot where the sides of the hood meet the front bumper, and, tbh, I'd rather have a tiny gap and OEM product over an aftermarket piece. The small gap is fine to me.

well,I think I'll probably pass on the zl1 hood and save for the CF hood which I think should fit better?...

Oh, I didn't mean to qualify it, sorry if my response came through as such, just wanted to state the fact that body panels and the hood will not line up perfectly.

Personally, I would probably let it go and live with it if this were my car, it doesn't look too bad on the pic. (Then again, I'm the one who spent 2+ hours tweaking hood hinges to make the gap absolutely perfect on mine... I can ease into some moods for sure )
