Electric water pump

Been working on
This with a buddy of mine. What do you guys think? I’m using an
Older style lt1 electric water pump from meziere. Had to change the water pump blades to turn the fins the opposite direction and had to make an adapter plate. Should be able to test it out in a week or so.

Nice project. Did you add a fillet at the bottom of those fins that isn’t clear in your picture?

I don’t know your background, but if that’s a sharp corner at the bottom I’d change it to have a fillet. Is that ABS or Nylon 6 material?

Parts are currently being made in aluminum. All the test parts were made in plastic. Will hopefully be able to test this here soon. Need to get the holidays out of the way first.

From my drag racing days, you can use adapters to go to LSx (Gen 3/ 4) style water pump including the various eletric Meziere versions with or without a built main pulley. If not needing to turn a supercharger belt or A/C belt, you can space the generator rearward and run off the 4-groove A/C belt section on the stock or an underdrive ATI balancer. Think you're doing cool work, just throwing the above out as typing outloud point.

that setup you have there will work with that intake manifold. When you use the lt1 msd 103mm style intake manifold you run into clearance issues. Also you have the vaccum box attached to the back of the water pump I still wanna use. I have a brand new meziere ls3 style water from my vette. I tried it but in the end for my application i thought this would be the better route to go.

Those are pics off its website not my car. I was just thinking outloud how I would go about it, not saying your approach is wrong. You can also use a remote EMP / Stewart pump (up to 55GPM) to AN fittings off the adapter block. We've done that as well on cars especially non-heater ones. Good luck either way.

Nice! Are you having these made at a machine shop?

Update on the pump. It’s almost done. Hope to test it out here soon.
