This may be another situation where someone interesting mainly in straight-line acceleration bypasses the Recaros and saves the money. I've never even sat in the regular non-Recaro Camaro seats, but if they're comfortable for you then they are probably fine for your needs.
Before I had my SS 1LE, I had a turbo with the regular cloth seats which I think are identical to the regular leather seats other than the seat covering material.

I'm partial to the Recaros most of the time. The guy I codrove with for autocross in the turbo and last year in the 1LE mentioned to me the other day that he vastly preferred the turbo's seats to the Recaros on our longer transits. He's 6'2 and probably 250ish.

I'm 6'0", but it's hard for me to make a fair and direct comparison between the seats since I was about 225 when the turbo was basically parked at the beginning of covid and I was down to about 165 by the time I bought the 1LE.

That said, I was surprisingly happy with the regular seats. The Recaros are better in terms of adequate bolstering, but not by much. I never found the regular seats wanting in comparison (they're both street seats, not race seats). I really like the texture of the Recaros compared to the cloth and I'm partial to the Recors overall, but I can't be certain I would be if I hadn't dropped all the weight.

Also worth thinking about, the Recaros come with fans in them. They are inoperable in the car as delivered, but Gen5DIY has an inexpensive kit that will let you enable them. No matter what kind of driving you do, the ventilation is a pretty nice thing to have on warm days.

Get the 1LE, nothing else compares unless you're talking ZL1, u only live once. U ever decide to go run some autocross or visit a track day it will be the best decision u ever made.

Plus your resale/return on investment will be higher on the 1LE.

Seeing you mention that your build has Sunroof option, on a 1SS with the 1LE package added you cannot add a Sunroof for some reason. I will say that if you can live without the sunroof and the 1LE package fits your budget on the 1SS then definitely get the 1LE package. I don’t ever plan on tracking my car but for just a weekend nice weather cruiser I absolutely love everything about the car.

I agree with you. I say this all the time, the 1LE is the best bang for the buck in terms of a performance car. I have a 1SS 1LE (did not want the 2SS) manual with no options. MSRP was 46K. Yeah, I have added a few GM accessories and some aftermarket parts that would increase the price, but those aren't something most folks wouldn't do anyway in order to personalize their vehicle.

$7K is a lot of money for the 1LE package, but you have to consider all the performance upgrades you get with it. And if you try to upgrade to the 1LE parts, some of which you can't retrofit to an SS, it would cost you way more in the long run.

I’ve had three Camaro’s, going through models to find what works for me (from a SS to ZL1 to a LT1). I personally think the 1LE is best looking bang for the buck. If it weren’t for the Recaro’s in the LE, I probably would have went that way (Matt Miller hit on the reasons I don’t prefer them). Cloth seats are pretty durable and hold you in place well enough for the street (as opposed to full leather). In the end, I still question whether I should have got the LE, parted out the seats (bought cloth seats to replace), removed the splitter and hood wrap, parted out the pads and changed to low dust. That would have been 100% perfect for my needs…and a screaming performance deal. After all that, the cost would have been ~ 45.5K-46K. My current LT1 with upgraded wheels and tires + MSRP is right around that cost. I did get some $ off with the GM card, but even still… the point is there’s so many options open to you OP. Even after a 3rd purchase, I question whether it was the best.

Good luck.

IMO, get the 1LE package and sell the brake pads and tires right away as new. Get something like Powerstop z26 pads and PS4S tires, this will make the car work just fine on the street.

If you're looking at an SS w/ some of the 1LE options you get close in price anyways, the 1LE wheels, spoiler, splitter look better and resale value will be better. It's too good of a value to pass up imo.

I got the 1LE because it looks the most aggressive, simple as that.
Those rims are the sexiest I've seen next to the Z28

After having a 2017 1SS and trading it in on my 2023 2SS 1LE.

Go with the 1LE package the car handles a lot better. It stays so flat in a corner. I love the recaro seats to much more comfortable than the stock seats. The brakes are insanely responsive. Well worth it.
