I removed the wheels to give them a thorough cleaning and ceramic coating. I'm hoping the ceramic coating will make the wheels easier to clean. As everyone who owns a 1LE knows the brake dust from the OEM pads is an issue. I used Gyeon Quartz Ceramic Rim Coating. I purchased it from Amazon as it had good reviews. I'll provide more feedback after I see how it does.

Here are a couple of pictures of the finished product.

Well, if you want them to stay on the car at speed, you'll need more than double sided tape, physics can't be cheated.

Mine (from C7 Carbon) are attached with self-tapping screws, which is mildly inferior to rivets, but they have been rock stable so far.

Yes, the side skirts are riveted on. My side skirts are from ACS. As arpad_m stated the side skirts need more than tape to hold them on at speed. Most of the rivets are on the bottom of the rocker, but there are also some on the sides as well. Put it this way, the side skirts aren't going anywhere.

Forgot to mention in my prior post about the ceramic coating that a small bottle of Gyeon Quartz Ceramic Rim Coating costs approximately $50 on Amazon.

@ZPirate - you're giving me some really good ideas when I get my SS 1LE in Rapid Blue. I just put my order in over the weekend, so it will be a while.

Thanks for sharing the various updates. Really enjoy looking at the progress.

You are welcome. I know you can't wait to get yours. I remember the wait for an allocation and then finding one in transit.

One of the best things about the forum is the information/ideas you can obtain from other forum members. Especially those who have already done things you also might one to do.

We'll see how it goes. Another member recommended Jim Ellis Chevy in the Atlanta area. He received allocation within a couple of weeks. I went there over the weekend and was told the wait time was 3 months, but I could get the car sooner. The Sales manager emailed me today (unsolicited) letting me know he'd stay on top of the sales team to keep me informed. He soon after sent over the workbench sheet with specs/order number.

I added some specific things to mine (red seat belts, red knee pads, black Camaro badging). Hopefully that doesn't slow it down too much. I'd just hate to wait 6+ months but prepared to do so if needed. If it gets to be ridiculous, I'll probably do what you did and search for one in transit and hope to get lucky.

Larger dealerships tend to have more allocations, so that should be a benefit to you. And even before COVID the wait for ordering a new vehicle was 2 to 3 months. And I do think things are starting to improve in terms of the supply chain for automobile manufacturers. I also don't think the options you have ordered should be an issue in terms of them being available. Is your order for a 1SS or 2SS?

Nice. The reason I asked is that earlier in the year 2SS models were on constraint. I don't think they are now though.

I believe that's right. Also, I believe constraints are supposed to come off of the 1LE package this month as well, but I haven't seen anything official.
