1500 Miles and the Transmission Went ...
V8 2SS Manual
Well absolutely love the car but 1500 miles in with the manual transmission and not sure if it was me or the car but it's gone completely shi*t. Taking it in for service on Monday. - Terrible shudder/chatter when coming out of any gear (barely noticeable at high speeds because of the wind noise). Either the flywheel or rear diff IMO we'll see ... - Terrible rattle/cracking noise from 3-6k RPM. Coming from some point in the transmission. - With auto rev match on, every time it rev matches it makes a loud tick noise. Almost like a hammer on metal noise. - Duel exhaust stops working at random when switching drive modes. Absolutely love the car just hoping I received a faulty component in the transmission and it's not GM's quality issues again. Will keep you guys updated for reference. UPDATE********* I'm going to go ahead and take responsibility -- I was an idiot. I filled the tank with regular gas. I filled it up with premium and all the problems seemed to have gone away. The minor rattle coming from the back was a loose speaker plug probably from me blasting the stereo. The minor whistle noise is coming from the passenger side mirror -- barely noticeable. This is literally the best car I have ever driven. I would take this over the C7, the Audi R8, the Jaguar F Type, the BMW M3, and the Lamborghini Gallardo. I simply cannot believe Chevy designed this. I am shocked and still remain in awe. Even the little things which I find huge like the white accent lights on the inside (behind the touchscreen, the lock button light, the white ceiling LED accent light), the thicker clear code vs the 5th gen, the harder scratch resistant plastic. Not to mention the quality, bargain, performance, feel, and beauty of this machine. Bravo Chevy, Bravo. I've put 2000 miles on this thing and have driven it like I stole it. What a well made machine. Well done Chevy. Last edited by winkchris; 12-27-2015 at 11:42 PM. |

Wow this news makes me sad.... I just got my 6M last night.
I'm definitely having flashbacks... My CG 2011 M6 SS went through 3 syncros in 25k miles and it was a huge problem for that year. Hopefully that's not the case right now.

Not to mention the rattle in the back of the car by the speakers. Love the car, just hoping these are issues that can be mitigated. |

The shuddering started at around 500 miles and then only got worse and worse. Same thing with the auto rev match ticking - started off as a slight noise (thought it was the throttle cable or something) and not it's like a hammer on metal. Like I said, i'm not sure if it's me of the car but I live in Miami and it's pretty much like you're driving on the track all day long here lol minus the traffic. I'm pretty avid at stick but I mean come on Chevy what are the tolerances of this transmission --
