I don't really use the accessories too often on the Camaro unless I'm on a ten at work every now and then. Was thinking of getting a light weight lithium installed but it might be a better idea to just get a standard replacement when it's time... Not sure how much a difference a lightweight battery would make on the 0-60 or any other performance unless the car has already been heavily modded and it's time for weight reduction right?

you guys prefer a lil extra weight in the back anyway?

I've heard terrible things about both Northstar and Odyssey not honoring warranties for their batteries. Personally I have always had great experience with Interstate and trust them for reliability and warranty. I am the least bit concerned with a marginal CCA difference. In Dallas the temps do not dip below freezing often so this is of the least concerns.

Interstate is also USA made.

That's the one listed on their website for our cars. You know something we don't??

I’ve been a licensed auto and heavy equipment tech for about 25 years. Having worked for a very busy used car dealer, a very busy equipment rental company and now a large construction company I can confidently say I’ve dealt in lots of different batteries.
The rental equipment and our construction equipment gets abused. Keys are left on. Lights and beacons left on. Machines idle for 14 hours without moving and all lights including hazards are left on while idling.
Of all battery failures and short lifespans I have seen in my career and my coworkers agree, it’s from Interstate.
In fact, I just had a roadtec shuttle buggy completely die while in operation and feeding an asphalt paver. Why did it die? There were two brand new Interstate batteries installed within about 6 weeks.
One completely shorted out and would not power up the module to run the Cummins engine. Shorted so bad it brought the whole system down to 2.2 volts. It’s supposed to have 24 volts.
Our company had stopped using Interstate about 6 months ago due to the amount of failures we were having.
These 2 batteries were the last Interstates we had that would work in the buggy.
As for automobiles. Our truck fleet is around 300 trucks. Trust me we have had enough of Interstate.
Just throwing that out there from experience.
We have used other brands that don’t seem to fail near as often.

Just go to the AC DELCO site and find the right battery for your car.

Not trying to step on toes. But I respectfully disagree. What I wrote in my comment about the shuttle buggy battery failure cost our company well over 50 thousand dollars. That’s obviously between machine time down, loads of wasted asphalt and personnel being paid while the machine was down.
We were lucky the machine wasn’t on the highway at the time. Had it been, we would not have been able to get it off the highway to open the highway at the time the ministry states. That fine from the Ministry starts at 50 grand and is typically 5 grand a MINUTE after that.
I hate days like that

I miss the Sears Die Hard battery line. Now I use NAPA premium batteries.

I believe the OEM battery part number is 23423787. It also goes by the AC Delco part number 48AGM.

https://techlink.mynetworkcontent.co...-2016-2018.pdf

It's available on Amazon, Rock Auto, and other sites for $168 or so: https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-48AGM.../dp/B008FWCLHU

I am interested in knowing more about the ATS-V "Track Package" lightweight battery (also within the link above), which is part number 88865429. It has a lower CCA rating though.

Interesting regarding that lightweight battery. Wonder if or how much weight is saved.

From what I can tell from a quick search online, it looks like the Camaro / ATS-V OEM battery (AC Delco p/n 48AGM) weighs 45.1lb, while the lightweight ATS-V battery (AC Delco p/n LN1AGM) as part of the Track Package weighs 29.1 lb. So weight savings is around 16.4 lb.

Interestingly, the lightweight battery is around the same price or even cheaper online than the standard AGM battery. However, CCA drops from 700 to 560 with the lightweight battery. I believe the lightweight battery may also need an additional bracket based on ATS-V forums.

The Optima Yellow Top is heavy but it gets great reviews on this forum. I also have the starter heat soak issue, so i am thinking about going with this heavy high cranking battery. It is $275 with my pro discount at Autozone.

Have you tried to warranty it? its covered under the 3 year 36,000 and may be more. They used to be covered longer than bumper to bumper.
