Bought mine new last weds. Its a 2016, I had two 'verts to pick from that were equipped exactly the same, a garnet red and the white/black. They both had been sitting since summer so they had $7k in rebates, haggled another $3k off for $10k off. Listed at about $35k got it for $25!!!

ETA bought at a dealer in north St. Louis county, always get better deals there than any that are closer in IL. Also got hubbys silverado there at about $12k off in may 2015.

Damn, these prices are making me rethink my strategy... I was going to buy a lightly used 2SS Vert but it looks like you guys are getting new OTD for what used is selling for!

What about the gas guzzler tax? Is that a big hit when buying new?

Well to make you feel better (or worse) I hit several dealers and even got 1k below my supplier discount. My 2017 stickered at 54 and the best I could get was 50k plus tax, etc. I did not qualify for any incentives (GM owner, other lease vehicles, etc)

Bought my 2LT Convertible on 1/1/17. Sticker was $47,900 with pretty much every option available. Was $15,000 off sticker and I did not try to "haggle" more. Flew to OH and drove it back to NC on 1/2

+2...... In Ontario, Canada, add at least $15,000 to these prices PLUS a 15% tax.......

I bought my 2017 HBM 1LT RS V6 A8 vert with an msrp of 37830 for what may just be the best vert deal ever. I paid just 21600 plus tax and fees during the Chevy Labor Day Event! The price was after a 1K GM card rebate 1K Labor Day cash 1500 Chevy loyalty cash 1K select market bonus cash and an additional 2k rebate everyone qualified for. A total of 6500 in rebates and a negotiated 9730 dealer discount came to just under 43% off MSRP. A totally amazing deal on a sweet ride and a price less than most pay for a Cruze!

Sadly larger fleet sales of Camaro convertibles to rental companies appear to be taking it's toll on used car values. The majority of rentals are 2017 1LT RS V6 A8 and current average auction value is down to just around 20K on these with an average of 18k miles. Over 100 1LT verts have gone through one of the nations largest auto auctions in just the last month. I check often and the selling prices continue to plummet. 1LT coupes are averaging 19.6K right now, just a few hundred less than the convertibles. If you are in the market for a vert you may want to take this into cosideration.

Is this info public?
Didn't find much on a quick search other than rental car companies advertising their stuff. Hadn't thought of this before as a factor in the total-cost-of-ownership equation.

National Automobile Dealership Association (NADA) recently gave the convertible 2ss a POOR value rating for a projected 5-year cost of $67K of ownership.

Mine is on a train from Michigan to be delivered soon. Considering what a fair price is verses my love affair with this toy...

Most Camaro fleet rental sales appear to be 1LT V6 model convertibles so I wouldn't be at all concerned with faster than normal depreciation owning an SS due to fleet sales. What I have discovered in my research is that on average the coupes tend to hold more of their overall value in general as compared to the verts, but even knowing that didn't change my mind as I wanted a convertible. Another thing to consider is if we use these cars as pleasure vehicles and keep them mint with low miles they demand top dollar as used cars and are usually an easy sell to a private buyer. All cars depreciate, some faster than others. If Honda made a 2SS I'd buy it, we all know they don't, but when we buy these toys we pretty much know going in that it's much more of an emotional decision than it is a logical or practical one. Life is short... enjoy your new ride!

I picked up a new 2017 Camaro SS Convertible. I feel like I got the deal of the year. It is red with magnetic ride, auto, dual-mode performance exhaust, navigation, and split spoke wheels. The sticker is $53,680 and I paid $38,500.

Jim Ellis Chevy in Atlanta treated me well. I traded my 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon and they gave me $27,500. I paid $32,000 for it 7 years ago! So I lost just $3,500 after 7 years of Jeep ownership. You can't beat the resale of the Wrangler Rubicon's.

Total out the door was $38,500 - $27,500 = $11,000 plus 7% tax.

Love the car!
