LTG GM Performance exhaust includes a tune??

I came across this exhaust from GM performance which says in the description: "This exhaust includes calibration and is 50-state compliant."

Part number is: 84578419

I have heard of other GM parts that included a tune which also gave a power increase. Is that the case with this one?

I have called the Chevy 1-800 number, as well as several parts departments at dealers. No one seems to be able to say what the "calibration" actually does. Has anyone here had experience with this, or know how to find out?

So this is a typo: "This exhaust includes calibration and is 50-state compliant." You are talking about the LTG right? There is no GM intake for the LTG as AFAIK

Your on the right track, i looked at your other post too. I found chevy to be less than helpful, as in virtually zero oem after market support. I read somewhere they basically have shut down the factory sourced performance business. Keep looking though and let us know.

I'm almost 100% certain the "calibration" is for the Active Noise Cancellation feature for cars with the Bose stereo system.

No way in hell Chevy is going to upgrade, tune or modify the performance of the engine.

You won't find it anymore GM is pretty much shuttering the oem performance aftermarket outside of specialty vehicles.

Which is a real shame. When my dad bought his HHR SS the dealer tuned it and badged it with "GM Performance" and warrantied it. The thing was ridiculous to drive (FWD).

I have this exhaust on mine, ordered and installed it through dealership. Can confirm they did no tuning, just bolt on and go.

I have the same exhaust. Found the specific part on Chevy's Accessories website, ordered thru my dealer but installed by a local muffler shop. I didn't need any "calibration". The listing on Chevy's Accessory website does not list calibration in the product description:

Im sure someone has a hack out there. Mustang has some kind of fused link so its part of the "architecture" for thiers. theres a utube.

" It delivers a great performance sound and reduced restriction, while promoting increased power. This exhaust includes Active Noise Cancellation calibration for vehicles with Bose stereo system. "
