Also, OP specifically asked about all-season tires for winter, so I assumed he'd still want to switch twice a year, ie between summer and all-season tires.

BTW I misspoke a bit, it's 200 miles on the road but only about 150 in a straight line, avg temps are only 5° lower here than in Atlanta.

I ordered Conti DWS06 plus for my ZL1 for the winter yesterday. I hope they are pretty good. Almost anything will be better than my half-worn OEM Supercar 3 tires when it's 30 F outside.
And I disagree about PS4S tires being good in sub 40-degree weather. Had them (OEM performance pack 1 tires) on my 2018 Mustang GT and they were downright dicey at those temps. until they came up to temp. They would spin at 65 mph at under half throttle on a dry hwy on a stock 5.0 when the tires were under 40 F (e.g., sitting at the office all day in 35-40 F weather). On those cold mornings it was almost impossible not to spin the rears while turning out of my subdivision onto the main road, and my Mustang was garage kept.

I have a set of Michelin Pilot SS's on my Corvette as my summer tires set. When the temps drop below 40F, they are basically useless.
The Pilot Sport All-Season 4's are excellent. Drove the Corvette this past week when the temps dropped into the teens and car felt great. Side note: The morning I had the PSAS4's put on, I had to drive in freezing temps on 11-year old Michelin Pilot Sport ZP tires to get to the tire place. It was a white knuckle experience for the 10-mile trip. Very very high level of anxiety. Needless to say I took it very very easy. |

A couple clarifications. When I said the PS4S or EC Sport are fine below 40F, I meant they are safe from damage. I've driven them plenty into the 20s and never had any damage. They obviously don't grip as well as when it's warmer out, but some of the warnings about that are a little over the top, too. You obviously have to use restraint: you're still in control of the inputs. All-seasons start out with less grip even in warm temps, so they drop off less, but I bet the difference in grip at 35F isn't that big between the two. And of course, as soon as you start driving, the tires will gain temperature.
The "summer" tires will be awful in snow or ice, but Atlanta won't see those conditions very often.

Exactly, I was going to cop some Z28 rims with some nice tires for colder weather, then rock my OEM's in the summer with the Eagle F1. However I notice my car more recently gets sideways and traction isnt as good as before. Im also at 5k miles. |

I drove the OEM 3Rs for a few thousand miles when I first got the car and soon concluded they were the most dangerous street tire I had ever driven. If it had rained in the last say 24 hours or so, they would be like driving on ice. But they're great on warm to hot dry pavement.
