Great car imo interior was way better than the camaro for its time and besides the infotainment systems new cars have the gto has an impressive specious (big back seats for a coupe) interior with quality materials to this day. Only drawback was the tiny trunk due to the fuel tank relocation for US import. The camaro was actually an upgrade as far as trunk space goes believe it or not lol.
The material quality in my 04 GTO was better than my 13 ZL1 ...I'm serious. I loved that car. It was a great daily driver.

Hey man I read your build specs on your GT. Helping my cousin with his 19 GT build, did the Velossatech BM do anything to your car in your opinion? I know the mustangs have a better air funnel from the grill to the intake from the factory than the camaros do. Or did you do too many mods at once to tell?
The BM's look cool, lol. The IAT's are lower that's for sure. Not sure how much they truly help (only driver side is functional) but the air filter gets dirty faster. The only down side is putting them in, you have to take the whole bumper off, cut grill out, then reattach, the inner fender bolts are a PITA so be careful or you can rip them out.

Another former GTO (2004 6M) owner here. Definitely had higher quality interior than the typical GM offerings. I owned it for just over 12 years. I had to sell it when I ordered my C7. I literally had nowhere to store another car. Fortunately, I know where it is and I just may buy it back one of these days. We had a very active group down here in south Louisiana.

Mine was my daily driver for 11-1/2 years, 115,000 miles. It was trouble free and only needed wear items, maintenance and the drivers window motor.

Best part. I paid $29,000 and sold it for $9,200. It was a clean, black M6

People dissed the GTO over styling but it was a beautiful car to drive

That's pretty much the consensus I have heard from former GTO owners

Almost exactly like me. Bought new in October of 2004 for $29k and change. Sold in 2016 for $10,000.

Oh! Obviously my avatar is a pic of said 04.

We were on parallel paths. I took delivery of mine Thanksgiving weekend 2004. I sold it in May 2016.
I took this picture in 2012 with 73,000 miles on her.

Nice!
The GTO crew was definitely a tight bunch. I guess because it was a niche kind of car. I did a few minor exterior mods (MavMan carbon fiber spoiler, 2005 18's and Billet Prototypes blue Pontiac arrow heads), and some bolt on's (Kooks LT headers, FAST 92, cam, full Pedders suspension, etc.). Last dyno was a bit over 415 RWHP. I think that was before the Magnaflow cat back, so maybe I would have hit 425 or so.

Sorry everyone
Back to the Camaro vs. Mustang debate!

Agreed, almost everything was soft touch on my 06. The entire dash area all the way to the windshield.

Really reliable too, in 70k miles, my drive shaft center bearing went bad (supposedly you have to replace the drive shaft but I found a hack to get it out), wiring harness was pushed against a sharp bracket in the glove box area (easy fix with a rubber pad to lay it on), and the rear end started slipping (a torco diff fluid flush and type f limited slip fluid took care of that).

Thanks, I ordered one pretty cheap so I'm gonna try it out for whatever it's worth. I've heard lowered iat's from other members here and someone figured out how to do it from above the grill through the hood latch panel on Camaros. I guess we'll have to be a little more meticulous when we do it on the GT.

You said only drivers side is functional, on the camaro there is only a drivers side piece. Is the mustang BM a two piece unit, both sides?

You can get passenger side just for looks. It looks better if you cut the grill out.
