For just 7 psi on an LT1, all you need is a good tune and good quality 93 octane. Any more than 7, and you need a fuel system that can keep up.

Ppl was telling me I should change my camshaft and allat but I don’t really need to on 7 pounds of boost huh Ik these lifters in these motors are prone to failing tho that’s my only drawback lol

Nope, no need to change the cam or lifters at that point.

You will want to upgrade the fuel system to the LT4 stuff at minimum. The tune Procharger supplies is no good, so plan on a tuner kit and get it tuned by somebody that knows gen5 engines. You will also want a LS3 crank seal and a metco valve cover breather with the one way check valve disk...or get the mighty mouse system.

Wise words from the King, the LT4 fueling will definitely raise your HP ceiling a bit. LT4 injectors, LT4 high side pump, and LT4 intank pump is a good start.

It’s not there anymore…..well….the procharger is but that’s it! I dynoed 545 at the wheels with stock stuff and prochagers canned tune tho. With the Lt4 fuel system and a custom tune….it went to 589 at the wheels. Now…..not much is stock anymore.

So upgrade my fueling stuff and then I can put the procharger on?

LT4 fuel system certainly won’t hurt but you don’t “have” too. What are your power goals?

It is your choice, you can do it before or after the blower install. I believe King mentioned the LT4 fueling as it provides more headroom, meaning that the fuel system won't as strained with the LT4 fueling as it would be with the stock fuel system. The key to not messing your engine up is having more than enough fuel AND a great tune combined.

I’d also say to go with LT4 fuel for 2 reasons. How long before 7 lbs turns into maybe 10 pounds? Maybe you never want to deviate, but if you do the fueling is there and ready to support “turning it up”.

The 2nd reason is to have the ability to run E85. Is E85 in the picture or are you planning on staying with 93 octane?
