Michelin PS4S Acoustic or Not?
So time for new tires, had Toyo r888r (315/30/20). Just too noisy and grip was so so at best. Being convertible the noise from the Toyo's is extremely noticeable.
Decided to go with the PS4S for a change and from what I've read they're good for spirited driving. They have the Acoustic (foam liner) to reduce noise, then the regular tire w/o the foam. Anyone have experience with either and offer opinions? Thanks

I have the non-acoustic version of the PS4S, and these tires are almost completely silent, except for very crappy concrete roads or bridges (understandably).

Thanks, that's what I thought as I didn't want the acoustic.

In my experience measuring noise with the coupe, the tire noise kinda gets drowned out by cabin noise at highway speeds. Situation may be different in the convertible.
I see you have a 2018. Do you have a sound tube? if so, deleting that will decrease noise significantly. |

No sound tube, the r888r literally sounds like an off road truck tire on pavement. Just wanted something with decent grip and quiet. Thanks all !

I ran PS4S all the way around and now have them just on the front (555RII now on rear) and they were always quiet. BTW the 555RII are also very quiet.
