No buyers remorse here. My wife had a 2013 2SS. It was perfect with no issues. I started looking for a 2016 LT for her. A little less power but yet a fine vehicle that is updated with all the new features that the 2013 did not have. We did not find a LT that we felt comfortable with. So when the 0% for 72 months was offered we looked again. So she found a LT that she liked and it was also discounted. As we walked into the dealership showroom she saw a 2017 anniversary edition and at first sight she said I want that one. She did not even look at the sticker in the window or walk around the car. I know she was stuck on the car when she and the dealership sales manager got into an animated discussion over the car. My wife was saying that she wanted the car and the manager was saying that he want to sale the car to her. The conversion was amusing. My wife has never looked back. Her new anniversary edition is a 2SS coupe with an automatic and it looks and sound great.

I'm having dealership remorse. I miss my car.
I had a little remorse spending the money on my 6.2 silverado, and granted this car was almost 10k less than that, but I don't regret the purchase a bit. I would disagree with those saying you can't use all that power on the street. Maybe it's better to say you shouldn't. I get all those horses down on the road in regular intervals. Outside of 2nd gear there could be some serious legal consequences though. The cold start sound is definitely the best way to start your day. It's all an equation. The amount of money you are able to responsibly spend on a car, the way you drive, how much performance you want out of your car are all factors. Certainly don't go over your head and underwater in huge car payments you can't afford, but I would never not buy the v8 as long as it's an option. Also i'm not big on chargers.... hennessey does a reasonably priced (for the amount of work involved) 600hp naturally aspirated engine package that's on my radar. |

I posted earlier that in some ways (all torque related) I wish that I had bought a 1SS.
I also said that I love this car as is. Realistically when I stop and look at what the 2LT/RS is as a car. It's a perfect daily driver sports coupé. I have a RWD, limited slip differential, manual transmission, 3400lb, 335 hp sports car that handles beautifully in the corners. It brakes well and does 0-60 in a bit over 5 seconds, and it hits over 100 mph in the 1/4 mi. What's not to love with all that? This is a great car and a great drivetrain combination. I'm watching "what's my car worth?". There is a 1967 corvette 427ci V8 that has a claimed 435 hp and it only states a 5.5 second 0-60. To think that my V6 camaro is quicker stoplight racing is crazy! I think the RS V6 camaro has become the equal to the BMW 3 series coupé in performance. The V6 camaro is a well balanced sports car that should be earning a lot of respect. I am starting to feel that this car will eventually get that car guy respect. Like the Nissan 240sx (silva). Once the 1LE V6 hits the circuits I think a lot of people will be surprised.

Personally, with this being my second Camaro, I decided not to settle for anything, so I ordered exactly what I wanted. With that being said, I daily drive AND track my car, which is why I went with the V8 manual, with magnetic ride, NPP, 6-piston front brakes, etc.
My question to you is: What do you use your car for the most? If the answer is daily driving, maybe with an occasional autocross or drag race, then I believe that you made the correct choice in engine. (Just trying to help )

Also, the rating system was different in the 60's. The engines were rated at gross hp (no accessories, water pump, different headers, etc.). And since then, hp methods have been revised.

I do live just a few miles from the fastest NHRA track in America, Heartland Park Topeka, and they do have test and tune every Friday evening. For $20 you can do as many passes as you want. I ran my Mustang on that track just to see what it could do. I will eventually take my Camaro there to see what it can do. But that isn't a weekly thing for me. If I did want to go there every Friday I would absolutely want an SS even if I had to buy it used. I bought my car more for just having a car that I think is cool, for having a car to cruise around in on nice days, having a car I can park at cruise night while I admire all the custom cars, and having a car to travel in once a year. I said it before and I will say it again, if I could afford another 10 grand I absolutely would have bought an SS, but I have absolutely no buyers remorse for getting my V6. I am very impressed with it's performance and it fits in my budget. My Mustang is on the left. I am absolutely certain my Camaro will beat that. My Mustang was a V6 automatic. It was 200lbs heavier than my Camaro with 30 less horses AND it had 2:73 gears

the turbo 4 and V6 camaros are similar to those tiny toss-able cars. Cars that feel at home on curvy mountain roads. An automobile that can utilize most of its performance capabilities on public roads is a beautiful thing. It's that old adage: "better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow." There is a lot of truth in that statement. Edit: http://www.autoblog.com/2013/05/10/1...-car-ever-sol/

The bottom line is that everybody has a different scenario and different wants and needs. I am very, very happy with the LFX V6 in my 2012- the power is phenomenal and the mileage is respectable. I knew this would be my DD so I didn't want the premium gas that the V8 requires- plus being in NY, I needed the all-season tires that come with the LTs. I have no qualms about telling people I have a V6. In fact just this morning at work I was showing a coworker my car and he was very impressed that it has 323hp. The Gen 6 is lighter and smaller and has more HP to boot! So it's pretty much a bad ass car no matter how you slice it.

In my opinion if you want a sports car you buy it. Sorry but a 4 or 6 cylinder Camaro is NOT a sports car it's a "I'm to scared" car. I'm currently on my 5th Camaro 2 I still own (2001&2016) all of which were and are well over 400 hp. Now let's hear all the hater comments.
