That. Same boat for me. 3 to 5 events so 8 to 12 track days. I’ve never run with track insurance and I’ve had 3 close calls. All my offs were late braking and/or too much corner exit throttle. All in places where I could get away with it. I’m definitely a 90-95% to my limit which equates to 85% of what the car can do.

HPDE’s are non-timed, non-competitive events. I’m covered if there’s an accident on track. My buddy unfortunately had the ultimate test in a 2017 Z06. Came into NASCAR at VIR and the entire motor blew throwing oil on hot exhaust. We all watched his car burn as the safety crew tried to pry open the FRONT of his hood with a giant pry bar - on a car whose hood opens in reverse. Car was totaled and the insurance paid for everything.
