So far I've done the schools where you get about 16-20 laps per day.

Looking to do a track day in pdx form soon. Def worried more about brake cooling and trying to find those air scoops that people get on the ss...

Cam up here stands for classic American muscle... works great for those who build a street car and just wanna run what they brung
We have smaller tracks like parking lots and /or police academy training track. Every once in a while we get a full on track close by. Buyt that's like once a year. Total participation in the Houston area is up 150-200 participants. Track time is limited.

The small black metallic piece is the dust shield.

Yuppers so I need that fender liner plus that scoop, and the deflector.

Got some research in to do big time.

Yup that's what comes with the heavy duty cooling package I believe. I know the extra oil and transcooler come with it. So I'm assuming all of that does as well.

We know it fits on an rs, since it's offered. Just a matter of finding the part numbers for it.

I can honestly say, with all the amount of wheels out there, and then the addition (or not ) or spacers "needed"....

I still haven't found a set of wheels so far....

prob easily the most frustrating thing when looking at spending 1200-2000$ for wheels, and all the companies are constantly adding new wheels in 20x10, x11, x12....etc

but not many any companies doing much in 18's and 19's with a direct fit, no need for spacers. and even after sema, doesn't seem like GM bothered with it either. their autoX concept car is rockin the same 20x8.5's.

starting to wonder is that just the way to go if you plan to do 6 piston brakes....

MRR wheels planned to do the 1LE replicas in 19, but then that fell through. and you cant even request a custom set.

still kinda stuck where I don't want a wheel with a crazy amount of spokes, concave, or designs. I'm cool with a reg split spoke or basic 5-7 spoke wheel.

not to mention furthermore, you cant do the GM lowering kit WITHOUT having 20 inch wheels. the 18's aren't included for that kit

any input on this??? what am I missing???:confuse d:

So nobody is making anything for the 5th gen Z/28? Just putting that out there as a possible option without chasing down any dimensional differences. Since the (R) denotes a part that was restricted by Chevy at the time the parts list thread was established over on Camaro5, you'd think there might be an aftermarket opportunity going unnoticed.

From the 5th Gen Z/28 section
Quote:
Wheels:
Front - 22873225 - (19x11 11mm os) (GM says the shipping weight is 25.88 pounds) - $795.00 (R)
Rear - 22873227 - (19x11.5 26mm os) (GM says the shipping weight is 26.32 pounds) - $795.00 (R)
Weights may or may not be correct.

My recommendation is Forgestar, check out available styles and sizes here http://www.forgestar.com/wheels/

If you act quickly, they have a promotion going till Nov 30th for $200 off a set of 18's, & $300 off a set of 19's.

Not the cheapest wheels on earth, but at $400-ish each they are very reasonable for a light, custom made wheel. Choose your diameter, width, bolt pattern and offset, they make them to your specs.

I just placed my order for some 19x8.5 CF5V's through www.stranoparts.com for my 2.0t D-Street Camaro...I highly recommend Strano Performance Parts for not only great deals on parts, but also for the absolute best autocross & track set-up help there is.

I'm working on prepping my car for STP, since it allows 11" wheels now.

I'll be posting my F-Street wheels up for sale soon. They are 19x8.5f 19x9.5r custom Forgestar CF-5V's in Matte Black.

Like Mark said, Strano is the man if you want a known good setup.

I concur on the Forgestar. I ordered mine through Strano when they had their promo in late Sept. They arrived last Wednesday to my exact specifications...

I pretty much had copied Ryan's and the Feeney's set-up when it came to offset and wheel type choice (sorry Ryan).

well after doing more research, I am finally settled on the first set of wheels....sort of.

for the year round set, i'll get for sure in an 18x8.5

narrowed it down to a TSW Bathurst, a MRR FS02, or something in a Forgestar F14 since the CF10 doesn't come in 18, or the CF5).

def appreciate all the help so far. even the pic of the wheel that broke off during an autoX event. don't wanna be that guy chasing his wheel into the pits cause it was cheap and easy to buy.

then once I have those in place, i'll shoot for a track only set of wheels...and def a bit wider.

I'm figuring since all three are rotary forged, they strength should be decently above the stock low pressure cast. I know the Bathurst have a 1350 load rating. haven't been able to locate the load rating of the stock wheels online though.

anyone have any "quirks" about any of the three I should look out for? I'm kinda uneasy about the forgestar to be truthfully honest.
