FS: Range AFM device

The Range AFM Disabler Device keeps your vehicle in 8 cylinder mode 100%, preventing the Active Fuel Management system from dropping cylinders. It works great and I've been very happy with it. No factory warranty concerns, just unplug it before taking it to dealership and they will never know. I paid $199 approx 7 to 8 months ago. Selling for $100 (includes shipping in US). It's the latest version. No need to upgrade. It works great!! I tuned my car and no longer need it.

Here are a few links about it:

I have warranty and GMAC extended warranty and its always a concern to do something that gives them an excuse to void your warranty or make you fight for coverage.

I love my Gen 6 2SS and have about 8500 miles on it already. The one and only complaint this far is the AFM... you do not get the constant cruising rumble that you get out of cars that don't have it.

My BIG question is, I know you can unplug it before going to dealership but will the NSA (On Star) know its plugged in when they do monthly diagnostics or when ever they want to check. I'm just not sure what their abilities are. I'm thinking of getting the Vitesse Throttle controller and wonder the same thing.

If you or someone knows what On Stars abilities are when it comes to removable things like these pleeese let me know

I can tell you what it was like 2 years ago. All they could tell at OnStar was that something was plugged in and therefore they could not send you the monthly service data. I just told thim I didn't want that anyway, cut that service off. I don't know if it's the same now.

A few times I was in for service and never said anything.

OnStar does the monthly diagnostics the same day each month, I just unplugged it that day. If I remembered. Mainly just made sure it was unplugged when I took it to the dealership.

Or, tell Big Brother to eat one and refuse to activate Onstar.
