I bought the OEM kit, and like them more than the black plastic. The hardest part for me was getting the original panels off. For some reason mine were on there gooood. Lots of heat gun and trim tool prying to get them to release without destroying them.

So now I need to disconnect the connectors so I can feed them underneath the weatherstripping and install the door sill plates, but I can't get them to disconnect (see attached photo). They have this red sliding piece on top and I have tried moving it back and forth, even just sliding it halfway, and it will not unplug. I'm sure it's something simple, but I can't seem to figure it out. Can anyone provide some guidance? Thanks!
The way this type of connector typically works is you need to pull the red safety/locking tab up (so that you see more of it), then press and hold down the black centerpiece that is directly over the tab, and then you should be able to pull the two pieces apart with your other hand.

The red locking tab prevents you or anything else from pressing the tab down, which would disengage the plastic retention tab and release the connector.
