The conclusion is your car can have all the power in the world but unless you are running a true DR your chance for a great pass is very slim. All the power players including the last GT500, Hellcat, present ZL1 and future ZL1 need a DR or incredible track prep such as what can be had at a private track rental.

Think of it this way if I go out and run a 13-sec pass in a car that is supposed to run 11s do you think I want to add that time to the list?
Who said anything about drag radials, the only fair way to rate is stock against stock. If they come from the factory with DRs that would be different.

I'm in the same boat as this guy.

Z06 drivetrain without the Z06 price.
I rented a2016 over Easter and it seemed slightly smaller than my 2015. My 7 year old Sat in the back fine for extended periods and he is tall for his age. It got pretty tight when my brother rode with us. He's 6-4 and my wife (5-7) had to sit behind me (5-10). We made it work, but it would be bad for any extended period of time.

You can use them in a pinch but I just cannot see it as a "go out to eat"/"go for a ride" with the family car. You have to check one out in person and see for yourself.

Points very well taken.

However, with a Camaro, you have an option. With a Corvette, none at all!

The April edition of Road & Track compares the M5, CTS-V and Hellcat Charger. Give an idea how the ZL1 vs Hellcat Challenger might go. Good mag edition overall

Nice. Yeah the Zl1 and hellcat will be a great matchup. The ZL1 should be right on or a tad faster than the CTS-V.

Both the CTS-V and HC Charger make 6.5 hp/lb. The HC Challenger is (4449/707) 6.27 lb/hp. Estimating the ZL1 at 3900 lb and 640 hp gives 6.09 lb/hp.

The ZL1 will make more than 640 hp and have wider tires and a 10-sp.

Yeah hopefully we see around 660 or 665hp. I think we are looking a 11.3 or 11.4 ZL1 with the 10 spd.

I still can't believe that people still think the HellKitties will keep up with the ZL1???
We have seen the V's numbers, we know what the HellKitty twins run, and then people think it will be a drivers race?
I'm sorry, but IMHO, with such a better chassis, handling, larger tires, large weight advantage, and realistically less than 30 HP or fewer away, the ZL1 is just gonna drag the hell out of the Kitty twins!
There really cannot be any argument, at this time, about ride comfort, track ability, etc....The "Dodge Boys" will have to hope for another bone or two at the next redesign!

I'm just curious what are you basing these assumptions on? The above posted H2H against the CTSV? Remember other Mag test have been much faster:

How about 11:00s
