New guy looking for opinions
New guy here, been lurking for a while but time to jump in the pond and get some opinions. Not sure if this is the best place for this thread or not, feel free to move it to the proper area if not.
I recently purchased my first post 1st Gen Camaro in the form of a Black on Adrenaline Red 2SS ragtop with black rims with the red line accents at the edges, and I am looking to make it my own with some customizing. I have already removed the side emblems in favor of the red Camaro fender emblems and did the same with the tail SS, replacing that with a red outline SS emblem which I will also be doing with the grill emblem as well. Plans for the future include adding the ZL1 style lower body moldings in matte black and a few other styling cues yet to be determined. Among the definite changes I want to make though includes adding the matte black twin stripes from BigWorm and possibly some red accents to go along with them but I frankly like all four of the choices I came up with and can't seem to decide easily which looks best so help me out with your thoughts please. Of the options I am leaning more towards #2 or #4. Since IROCandROLL had posted the exact same stripes I am planning to use I photoshopped the accents onto his to make life a little easier. IROCandROLL car looks great by the way! Car as is- All four options together Option #1 stripes only Option #2 grill accents only Option #3 red accent stripes Option #4 red stripe and grill accents |

I'd go with #2. The little red stripes are too much in my opinion.

#1 or maybe #2.
IMO the thin red stripes detract rather than help, and I'm personally not a fan of those SEMA style SS grille inserts either, they look a little busy to me. #1 is an uncluttered, mean machine.

Splitter and rockers are required.
Dude, make it your own. #4 all the way. Contrast balance across the car is good. On the vert you'll see red seats when the top is down. So the pinstripes will tie it in well with the sema inserts on the front of the car. Kinda how the mosaic black paint on my heat extractor matches the splitter, rockers, and grille... and with the dark interior and black diffuser, it all matches and looks fantastic. The contrast balance exists in the front, top, center, and rear of the car. Besides, pinstripe tape is cheap. If you find out after the fact that the stripes are too much for you, you can always peel em back off. |

Voting for #4. This accent is a nobrainer with that hot looking red Camaro badge IMO.

I appreciate the response so far. Looks like a real horse race between one and four.
Gunkk makes a good point, that pinstripe tape is cheap. It is also very easy to remove if I don't like it. The stripes themselves go on on Tuesday, will add the grill accents as well for the full #4 effect then or as soon as I have time after that and see how I like them. If I don't like any part I can always start peeling. Pics of course will follow. Last edited by 67l78conv; 07-13-2018 at 07:21 AM. |

I chose 3 but I really couldn't decide between 2 or 3.
I think the inserts are really nice, but I was thinking they may not flow too well with the red pinstripes. So I think you really can't go wrong with either option, both look good on their own with the stripes. Although if you like number 4 then RED THAT CAR UP. I'm sure whatever ends up going on there will look just fine. |

#4.
All the red is subtle. Not huge batches of red so it works.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. Looks like the majority of people feel the whole ball of wax is the ticket, forty percent to be exact. I am leaning that way myself, as said before I can always remove anything I don't like.
The stripes will have to wait a bit though. Dropped the car off at the shop that was going to do them and they said they priced for the thin red pinstripe only, not the wide black stripes too. Scares me a bit as the estimate they gave was spot on to others I have seen done so curious what more would they want for the actual whole job? In either case I only had the one day this month that I could do it and that is gone now. |

I like #4 except leave the lower red stripe accents off because it’s too busy with the grill accents. To clarify, Leave the grill accents on just remove the stripe accents on the bottom.
