Basically just unscrew that set screw/allen all the way out, then tighten it so that it's either BARELY touching the rod or barely NOT touching the rod, shouldn't hurt either way.
As long as it's not screwed way into the rod, forcing more dumped boost and whatnot, you're fine. I'd just unscrew it and then screw it in to a papers width from the rod. *EDIT* Just read Lt1z350's post. Lots of information in there. Would be very interesting if some of these adjustments could be made to multiple cars at a time and backed up with strip and dyno numbers. You're getting boost numbers as high as pulleyed cars. |

So back this screw away from the metal piece then movie back just touching barely.

Yes. It is highly likely it will do nothing for a majority of these cars.

Lt1z350,
Thanks for posting the data logs. I can't believe how much the throttle is closing. It now makes sense why a tune is picking up so much HP and why ported throttle bodies work so well (basically tricking the computer by allowing more air for a given throttle position.) It looks like the factory control strategy is attempting to keep a constant MAF Hz, which would theoretically be torque control. For the record, I appreciate you sharing information.

Looks like I'll be tuning sooner than I thought

Mine needed a half turn. Bring a 5/32 allen wrench.

Do you have to re-apply that blue epoxy looking stuff once you turn it?

I backed mine out about half a turn. No change in boost on the car's gauge. Can you elaborate on which lines you are blocking on the solenoid?

FWIW I checked/adjusted mine today. I backed it off until I could see a gap, and then tightened it until it appeared to have just made contact. Looks like the net result was slightly over 1/4 turn back from where it was originally. The darker blue “blob” was at the top before adjustment. Added a drop of blue loctite myself once complete.

Can anyone else do logs to see what's happening before and after this? It's pretty interesting. Definitely something there. But I want to see more logs of various cars

I didn’t log mine before although I may have one saved on my buddies laptop from our dyno session (my throttle stayed 98% FWIW on all pulls).
I don’t expect my cars performance to change honestly. I don’t think 1/4 turn will do much of anything. And I feel like my cars boost stayed pretty deep in the gauge beforehand. |
