1. You will need an impact gun to start working on that center bolt. As long as you have one you are perfectly fine. After you loosen the center bolt you can use a regular ratchet wrench.

2. In regards to the clock spring, unscrew the center bolt a few rounds at a time. Every time you unscrew it a little bit, move the steering wheel back and forth. Keep an eye on the clock spring while you do this and have a screwdriver handy in case you need to push it back if it gets stuck to the steering wheel (very unlikely).

With the above you should be fine. It took me 15 minutes to replace mine and I was extra cautious.
Great advice, thank you I'll have to borrow an impact gun, I only have an impact driver for cabinets and wallmount stuff and that's a no go. I use a cheater bar and a torque wrench for the wheels and never really needed an impact per se for anything. What I'm afraid of is stripping the bolt, and I don't know if an impact gun or a cheater bar on a ratcheting wrench is more likely to do so.

Well yeah, but that's what I used to think like before, didn't even want to swap badges for fear of messing up the paint , but then I manned up and went ahead with that plus many mods afterwards.

Anyhow, I'll keep you guys posted

Indeed, indeed. I for one don't want to overdo the carbon accents on the interior, but it's hard to know when to stop, heh. Thinking about their CF cover for the left side of the dash and around the start button, and maybe the ring around the steering wheel airbag, but that's gonna be it.

I haven't done a ton of mods to mine, but everything that has been done I did myself, that includes swapping badging...

Awesome car that I just cannot love. Ugly as a camels ass. Especially this picture (not your picture taking - the car).

Manufacturing and shipping took 5 weeks total, and they committed to 6-8 weeks on their website, so that's lightning fast in my books.

All I need to do now is summon the courage (think clock spring & that frikken red-threadlocker-lubed T50 center bolt, you guys know the deal), and maybe more tools, too

Push comes to shove I can always chicken out and trot on over to the dealership, they're very friendly and do have a real pro in the shop.
I just built a $1700 steering wheel I might just have to have when my Alcantara wears out.

As for the OP -

I paid $44 for fuel (smiles per gallon) Shell - my go to, drove to work and home with the top down. I did crank up Black Summer instead of listening to the car for that 3:54

I would not mind it if it could actually corner and didn’t weigh 8000 pounds with 200 foot pounds of torque,it would fit nice in the collection

LOL Fran!

I agree that the C8 isn't the best looking performance car out there. I am not sure I would go as far to call it ugly as a camel's ass. In my opinion the Z06 actually looks better than the base C8. And I'd certainly like to drive one.

Thanks arpad_m. I ordered the spoiler in primed fiberglass and had a local shop paint it in satin black.
Sharkskin is really a unique color. Depending on the angle and the lighting, it may take on a different hue. Sometimes it actually does look like the color of a shark. Fran was definitely onto something when he chose this color

The spoiler looks great on the car. I also like the contrast of the black on the Sharkskin. Great combo.
