anyone ever get a conflicting report? Chatbox produced an actual agent I think. named Rhea. was told my order was accepted. YAY. thought I'd try the virtual agent later when I got home and got a "not accepted yet". like a barking, wagging dog....not sure which end to believe.

Put my order in on 9-18-2022 I put down a 1k deposit but I'm looking over my receipt and not noticing anything labeled as an order number? Do I need to attain this from the dealership?

Yes once they input it in the computer it will be at 1100 until they get an allocation.

Thanks Newcastle, I'll shoot them a call and see if they have a status code on it yet. I'm hoping that since it has been a little over a month they'll have some info for me.

Ask for the order number and ask how many people are ahead of you. If its a lot you might want to put a deposit down at another dealer as well.

I guess I shouldn't despair yet. 2023s will stay in production for 6 or more months. Still, I ordered in early May. The process couldn't be less transparent on GMs side. I know supply chain issues can be very specific to certain subsets of trim packages, etc, but damn.... they don't even offer false hope with an estimate, and there appears to be no rhyme or reason to which orders get picked up with allocations. It certainly doesn't appear to matter when your place an order. I'm trying to use the time time to save up for a larger down payment, but I have a sinking feeling this will end in disappointment. I didn't want to resort to a new mustang, but maybe that'll be my only option. I guess I should start figuring out their new trims, "Dark Horse" and all that stuff.

Are there many cases of customers not actually ever getting their car? I'm sorry if the question is redundant, I've never ordered a car before in my life until this first one so I'm relatively new to this process as well as community.

I ordered on 28 April when ordering was allowed. But remember production for 2023 did not start till mid June. I believe it was built in July. Dealer had immediate allocations. Shipping is what took the longest.
