So I decided to swap out my LED low beams for some 55W HIDs. Here are the comparison pictures:

LED low beams (24W Genssi LED 5000K 2200 lumens)

HID low beams (55W DDM Tuning Ultra HID 5500K 5000 lumens)

Here's everything!!!
HID lows
LED fogs

Went to pick up some parts at the dealer yesterday, they had one new Canyon in the back that was "un-driveable" because it supposedly had the wrong oil in it? They wouldn't even let me start it.

Pretty much fully loaded black, leather, some gear-on accessories, and the 3" step bars, crew cab 4x4 short box. I was able to just sit in it and move the seat around.

Dealers asking price after "market adjusted price" 52k... LOL. It's listed on the GMC website as 41k and change as optioned.

Still waiting to be able to drive one unfortunately. Also still holding out for the diesel. Any news if GM is going to break down and offer the diesel with a stick?

"Market adjustments" are ridiculous to begin with but what are they basing an $11k bump to a Canyon on? They are not a limited production vehicle. I mean they are not running out of their ears but they are not that hard to get either.

You get pissed and stab it to the floor, then it drops 2 or 3 gears and tears off. Very silly. Some sort shitty tune for maximum fleet wide fuel mileage. Starting to tick me off really, makes me want to drive around in M and manually shift it.
Same with the hill speed control, you are coasting down a hill and the next thing you know it drops 2 gears and revs to 3500 while your eyeballs kiss the windshield.

I started it this morning with the door open and was not impressed with how noisy it was on a cold start, complete with some sort of exhaust shield rattle or something like that coming from underneath.

Excessive drive train vibration too. You can feel the engine and drivetrain in it, not modern vehicle smooth.

This is the best looking mid size truck out there and I have no complaints about the suspension and handling, fit and finish. You know what they say about buying the first model year of a new vehicle, well it's true, let's hope they improve it in these areas.

I bought a 2010 Ford Fusion, really liked it very nice in all areas, I had it in for some warranty work and they gave me a 2009 Fusion to drive for a few days. That POS was like driving a 1972 Corolla. I could not believe the difference a year made.

I leased this one for 3 years and will make damn sure they refine this model properly before I buy another.

Earlier this month GM released a new ecm tcm tune for the Colorado. Addresses my concerns here. On the Coloradofans forum users are saying it fixes all of my issues described above. I have the brake and seat check recalls as well as a free oil change, going to get them to flash this tune as well will make an appointment for this week.

BTW the new tune is called "PIP5303 ECM/TCM" if your dealer has not heard of it.

I was just about to dig up your old post because this is driving me crazy in heavy Houston traffic.

REALLY glad to hear they've addressed it.

Here's a quote from a guy who had it done:

"I picked up my truck Friday night and they updated it with the PIP5303. I have given it a couple of days to let things settle and get some miles on it. So far I can say it's night and day. It's so much more civilized and what I would expect from an automatic trans. I'm absolutely loving it. Thank you to whoever brought this up on the forum. So glad I did it."

Others are echoing his sentiments.

Edit: And BTW, I'm betting GM stuck us with this shitty tune and driveability issues just to get their EPA fuel ratings, knowing they would fix it later. Not cool.

I have been thinking the EXACT same thing.

But really glad to hear of the fix. After the fest I'll go get mine done.

I want a 2015 GMC Canyon. Actually, if I had the money, I would have my Camaro, a 2015 Cadillac CTS and a 2015 GMC Canyon.

Made my appointment today. They had to do some digging but they found the ECM update. They will call me when the front calipers are in and I'll get it all done at once.

Edit. i'm going to reset the fuel mileage after this flash too. Been getting great mpg, the same as my 2010 Ford Fusion AWD 3.5L.

What's up with the calipers?

My gas mileage is around 19 mixed driving but mostly highway. Not as good as I hoped, but I am more than ready for that update. I don't think I would have kept this truck very long this way. Imagine the folks out there who don't even have a clue.
