Because with that logic the 2025 camaro would be no different than the current model. Doesn’t make much sense does it? I also think a 94 Porsche carrera looks better than the new one, but that’s not reality.

What doesn't make sense is change for change's sake even if it wrecks the styling.

Refreshed Camaro SS looked better when it was still wearing the camo on the front grille...

Even the ZR1 doesn't get different left and right wheels. In terms of airflow, Tadge explained that it makes so little of a difference that they didn't bother. If you go see the Ask Tadge section on corvetteforum I believe it is one of his most recent discussions.

I'm more with drew peacock on this one. If something is pretty good already, why the urge to mess it up with a "bold" "redesign"?

Of course we need (positive) change going forward, the current design will look rather dated in 2025 and nobody argues for keeping it forever, but this refresh is inconsistent and ugly. (Videos didn't help me like it either, to me the tails look even worse, these bulgy units are breaking consistency even more than the SS front fangs. This rounded design looked pretty good on the 5th gen, but this one is messy.)

The fact that the refresh "grows on" people has mostly to do with the mind's outstanding adaptability---say, if you listen to the same shit ten times a day, eventually you'll "like" it, in a sense that it will no longer evoke the same repulsion and starts triggering the familiarity fuzzies.

Can Chevy actually change the design? Or is it too late, the car won’t be available till fall 2018.

Yup - I was thinking the same. There must be a reason because it looks too small...

I'm sure the reason is the bean count would be off at the end.
The heat extractor on the fifth gen looked good, appropriately sized, this looks like J.C. Whitney catalog stick on hood vent, just waiting for the fender portholes.

Based on how that chrome bowtie on front grille looks I feel like it will be hard to blackout with vinyl, it seems rounded...hmm...

Good question. I believe this would only happen if their design studio published the current look to "test" market response. Or if the mgmt thought the feedback thus far spells trouble sales wise. If they think they did the right thing and the market will warm up to it as it did with the prior gens then there is no hope in hell. And based in Al's feedback i think it is the latter. If SS actual sales tank they may tweak it for 2020. GM did it with the last Silverado. But Camaro is a niche car so who knows...
The good news for GM is that Ford *really* messed up their Mustang refresh. But thats a small consolation and an oportunity lost.

There is no hope in hell. The new sheet metal tooling cost millions and they are not going to scrap it.

I agree with this mostly.

The "refresh" doesn't say CAMARO at all. Not the front, not the rear.
It says, "corporate gm coupe with trucklike nose".
Good luck with that.

Having said that, I think some may hold their nose and buy one for the A10.

Yeah...airflow wise, no difference, no big deal...Looks wise, a whole different story....a horrible damaged look spokes that look worse going in different directions from each other....

Maybe that's part of the "meh, why bother, the customer won't notice" mentality....Just go with the junk-yard salvage look of the bent-spoke wheels...lol...
