This is to be expected. A 500gb hard drive really is only about 450gb. The Xbone has 2 operating systems running taking up 35-40 gigs each.

Sorry but I have to disagree, I expected less than 500gb but not that much lower. That is poor data management on Microsofts part. If the games are going to be around the size of Forza 5 (32gb) that means in about 10 games your out of space. And in the desktop world if you have a 500gb drive you basically get the whole thing minus the default allocation that is determined by your partitions, boot record type, and format. With a standard installation of 8.1 with a recovery and driver partition you get about 465gb of a 500gb for file storage.

xbox has said they will have external hard drive capability in the future.

also, it's said that xbox can hold up to 7 dual layer blue ray games and 14 single layer. PS holds up to 8 and 16, respectively. So it's really not that big of a difference.

Hopefully they make it to where you can use a regale external drive and not one branded by Xbox. But overall I am very happy with the One.

Plan on picking up thief next week and also plan on preordering Watchdogs when I pick up Titanfall.

According to IGN it will be that way till the end of the month. They also state that Microsoft is contemplating on selling games cheaper if you buy them from their online store.

I for one wouldn't even consider buying the game through the store because of my internet connection. I could drive to Orlando and back (8 hours total) to pick up a copy of the game before Ryse fully downloads onto the Xbox.

I'm not a fan of buying downloaded games either. If it's free, then whatever. If I have to pay for it I'm getting an actual disc.

I haven't had any issues with our internet. wouldn't have a problem downloading a game either. i'm sure if something were to happen, and the game didn't finish downloading, you could download again, without paying, or call customer service. I've had great customer service with xbox. I've downloaded the DR3 demo, which was 17gb I think, and the full peggle 2 game. lmao it's actually a simple but fun game. hard to get all the awards, so a little challenging.

Id rather get the game via download. No need for a disk anymore, they always have a record of your purchase, you can always redownload. And you can also switch from one game to the next without having to put a disk in and out of the drive on the system.

Xbox says you have unlimited cloud storage so any game that you purchase will be stored in there waiting for you to download. It's the same concept apple has with movies on iTunes. You can save them locally but if you delete them you can re download them at no cost in the future. You can also save your in game progress to the cloud and pick up your game on another Xbox one as long as you sign in with your gamertag.

Well that is realistic. Can't believe they actually have that as an option in the game.
