Yeah don't know what part the start switch plays in remote start (FOB or phone).

It's no different than a kill switch, only instead of killing 1 thing, say your fuel pump, it covers a number of items. Fuel pump, starter, etc. I think it was 4 or 5 different things, and without the male plug, or cap, to insert into the receiver, or female side, to complete the splices, there is no starting the car. The wires are not color coded either, they are all black, so there is no tracing the wires and trying to bypass the receiver. If you try to jump the prong holes in the receiver you'll just blow fuses. It really is a well thought out device and I believe they guarantee your vehicle will not be stolen. Like I said before, I usually don't promote anything, but this is worth the money for theft prevention. About the only other thing I highly recommend is a dashcam. Doesn't have to be top of the line, but they are handy.

I’ve seen it before and it looked a little gimmicky, never known anyone who actually used it but that guarantee seems legit. How much was the device installed ? They had to come to you right ?

It was 500 when I had it installed. I think it's 800 now, and yes, they came to my house and did it right in my garage. I watched the whole process and asked lots of questions. They explained everything and answered all my questions. The guys I had where very professional. Unit came with 2 plugs, one for each key, and extras could be ordered but only with the serial number that comes with the unit. Otherwise the plug pin combination won't match and the new plug will not work.

Do you have to leave the plug in the whole time you’re driving or can it be removed after you start the car?

Does anyone have any tips on how to install a kill switch to the fuel pump?

Also any suggestions on an OBD port lock?

I didn’t read all the posts here but hopefully you guys in the areas were car theft is bad realize GM made changes to their new style key fobs were the remote goes to sleep when it’s stationary for a certain amount of time. Essentially cannot be woke up by a relay attack.
I understand trying all these crazy devices splicing into fuses and wires but honestly if there is a will there is a way and shitbags don’t care.
If the car is your priceless artifact keep it hidden and locked away, if it’s just a car keep a high insurance payout policy in effect and hope it’s never recovered.

I’m somewhere in the middle here, my car was stolen and it was both a precious artifact and just a car to me. I daily drove it and plan to daily my next car. I’m not in a high theft area, I was out of town when it was stolen, and it was done with the obdii key reprogramming tool. I’m looking for ways to be able to drive and enjoy the car I’m paying for, without some scumbag being able to easily take it. Investing in some of the items here will hopefully yield a solution that gives me not only peace of mind but actually stops a thief.

The hood kids only like hellcats so you’re safe with a Camaro. No theft worries because it’s not “ a cat”. Even in the hood you could park it with the key on the drivers seat. They won’t touch it. Now bring a hellcat within 10 miles of the inner city and kiss it goodbye.

The car will not run without the plug. There are a couple of YouTube videos on this device.

They should make the key fobs with an on/off switch so you can power if off when not using it. It would also make the battery last longer.

Do you know what year this started? And of course stationary won’t help when it’s in your pocket and you are out and about. I just use the faraday pouch and fortunately I don’t have to drive the car for errands

You're so wrong it's painful to read your post. My car was stolen and many other Camaros have been stolen. It's just not Hellcats or Kias..

If you're so confident that no one will take your precious ZL1 than I encourage you to drive it to Atlanta and leave the keyfobs in it. If you're so sure it won't be looked at because it's not "a cat" than please do that.
