Dude. Just stop. You’re acting like the kind of guy who, when dumped, says “you’re not dumping ME — I’m dumping YOU!”
You’ve been inconsistent in your stances and instead of just owning up to it in good fun and in the spirit of debate, you just keep falsely trying to self-claim victory. We all see it.

Either your reading comprehension is not great or you are "his" 2nd account.

IMO the car can go under 7 but it has to be A10

Your answer: No they don’t! False! YOU’RE wrong! And this is why people are advised not to be their own defense in court. It’s not a good look.

This is a sensible post that I can accept and I think I already did earlier in this thread. I said its possible that a "pro" driver could trims a VERY little off Bill's time, but then some people are quoting Al O's statement that a sub 7 second time might be possible. I strongly disagree there and think its a bold and ridiculous statement that we all know will never be attempted so some think Al's pedigree means its entirely possible and I'm on the opposite side saying its impossible and yet it will never be done. Its a stalemate but what we do have is the official time of 7:16 and I've never debated that. I've said before and I'll say it many more times, the ZL1 is the bargain of the century for any performance car under 100K, but let's not propagate a myth that this car is capable of performing sub 7 second runs at the Ring against cars that are far more capable from a physics and technology standpoint.

Statements alone are not elements of fact. Your "point" has thus not been proven. You should really try doing your own work instead of relying on "2 (or more) people..." to think for you.

I'm a huge pumper of the ZL1-1LE. However, I honestly don't see it being a sub 7 minute Nurburgring car without a dramatic weight reduction. The C7 Z06 is a good reference marker as well.
I also would not make the assumption that a pro would automatically equal a faster lap time. Bill Wise had hundreds of hours, if not thousands, pushing that car to the limit. He said in his interview that they visited tracks all over the world. Plus, if we're being honest, it's all moot unless the same driver is driving all of the cars testing the ring. |

1) Al O adds over 100 HP by throwing the LT5 in it.
2) AL adds 2000"lb-ish" of downforce with ridiculous looking aero. 3) Al gets someone to develop tires to handle the power and G's of "1 and 2" 4) Al adds some carbon fiber, removes/lightens components to reduce some weight. 5) Al adds ceramic brakes for later braking into corners 6) Al makes the necessary adjustment and improvements to the DSSV along with rear height adjustments 7) Dual clutch 8) Al says "F it" and asks Mary for some active aero. Bring that to the ring and what does Bill Wise run? Who knows, but it wont be just 7:16. This was probably Al's and Bills dream plan and GM told them "C8 or bust, you wont get even one of those"

Lets be cheap...
Just throw in the LT5. What does the ZLE run with Bill Wise? Who knows, but it still wont be just 7:16. ----------------------------------------------- I think the ZLE became too close for comfort to the Halo Corvette once it ran that RING time in 2017. GM probably wasn't expecting that delta, and they weren't having any more of it. The plug was pulled permanently on Camaro development after that. Al O was reassigned by GM to EV development Dec 2018.

Given the ZL1-1LE's weight, throwing in the heavier LT5 would probably upset the balance of the chassis even more. More is probably less in this regard. More power isn't the issue. The car has 650hp. The Porsches have less and are sub 7 minutes. What the car needs is a weight reduction and maybe even a tad more downforce. Instead of 350lbs of downforce, perhaps 450lbs at 150mph. Think..... Viper ACR. Lighter and more downforce. |
