While I am not a Dodge car fan...the commercials and rebates...made me go...Hmmm.

Well, just for a minute....while the commercial was on!

GMs Rebates are a...Joke!

But wait, no. This can't be correct. Others on here have said you can sell a turd if you just advertise it. Sarcasm intended.

You guys just don't have a clue and we'll leave it at that.

GM knows what they have product wise and they know that simply advertising a car that was imagined, designed and engineered to give existing Camaro buyers "MOHRRRRRRRRRRRR" (Seriously that is what they did, and they admitted that they asked the Camaro Royalty what they wanted in the Gen6 and the answer was simply, "more") that a simple TV commercial would be a GIANT waist of money.

Poor sales are not a result of advertising or lack thereof. Ford does not advertise the Mustang and it still leads the pack.

You cannot advertise a car designed for a small segment of the population and have a cool TV commercial drive sales. You mayyyyy get a slight bump but then reality sets in and the business case will tell you that you spent more money for the commercial and airtime for that commercial than profits made as a result of the commercial.

dodge sales aren't surging.

They're down year over year but mostly steady (probably just a virus drop). (for both the charger and challenger)

Mustang is actually up a tiny bit.

Camaro has dropped 40 percent at least. By far the outlier.

most of the young buyers that GM needs for the camaro aren't sitting there at 8pm watching ncis and grey's anatomy waiting for a commercial on what they should buy. they're on youtube and instagram, and there is a way to market there. Chevy even did that when Camaro6 debuted, but then they just seemed to abandon it.

The problem is that everybody who feels the way you do already has one.

GM should have pushed either a hybrid electric or all electric option for 2020 just so it had something that couldn't be ignored both for publicity and for bragging rights of the brand to differentiate it from mustang and chargers etc.

Nobody cares if the car can go around the track a tenth of a second better than a mustang or other cars. They're all way overpowered for legal driving on public roads. The public has spoken and this level of performance centric vehicle is a niche that few can afford to be involved in and those that do tend to see them as far too juvenile in design.
All Chevy needed to do was make this car better and more powerful in all trims to just beat the mustang, challenger in every aspect which it doesnt do. Follow Dodges lead, continually upgrading the challenger, mustang doing the same, Camaro nothing. I am a chevy guy thru and thru, hard for me to watch Camaro becoming irrelevant. Mustang and Dodge still are...

If the issue is performance..... well it’s just not. The ZL1 beats the brand spanking new Mustang GT500 in every track review I’ve read. The Camaro, regardless of the people that are claiming Gam halted assed engine development, beats all of the competition in equivalent trim allllll day long. Performance isn’t the the issue. It’s the best Camaro EVER. So why does it sell so poorly?

Cadillac has no identity. They are trying to make German knockoffs. They can’t decide what direction they are taking the brand. They spend huge sums of money on the Omega chassis, CT6 and 4.2 liter, then dump them off to the side. All Cadillac can do is spend absurd money, made bland products and then change their minds 2 years later.

Chevy spent thier $$ building the Porsche of pony cars. The Challenger is the most car like of the three. So even though it feels older and big and is quite practical it is also fun to drive. It is old school cool.

The Mustang has the longest run and lots of fan boys and girls generationally handed down. It also is a nice compromise between just a car and a performance car. Also fun to own and drive and like the other two looks cool.

The Camaro is the sportiest of the three and proves its mettle on any racetrack. It is more of a sports car than a car and makes interior size and visibilty sacrifices to to provide leading overall performance. This and the track focus of these cars will limit the market somewhat.

Another Camaro handicap is most Chevrolet sales reps (speaking from experience) have no idea how to sell these cars to the right people. And because they can be a hard sell many dealers only have 1 or 2 on the lot. This regionally discourages sales.

Ads don't sell cars. People do. But even so I enjoy the Dodge advertisements and the bad boy vibe they promote. I really liked the Dodge Ad that said something like "It does not make any sense to buy an SUV with nearly 500 horsepower. But I would sure like to have a beer with someone like that." That ad could almost sell me a Durango. But for now I will stick with my paid off old V6 Rav4. And drive my LT1 for fun. (if only I could.)

Stay safe out there!!!

They need to keep changing it up and add more power. A true enthusiast knows that its not all about power but to have bragging rights at the water cooler sells cars. Even as far as the challenger has come it still is heavy and does not handle but it has way more power in certain versions and they have made style changes that make it look better.
Look I bought and have not 1 but 2 6th gens but have added power to both and changed the look of both and if they didn't perform like they do I would have bought a gt500 because it has more power stock and even though not as much as the red eye it still out performs the red eye.
