Have you factored the additional cost of owning both cars, insurance, maintenance, etc. vs. just consolidating and getting a 1SS/2SS? I have owned a few vettes including a 2002 Z06 but honestly they don't even compare to the new SS. MRC, NPP exhaust, all the latest tech, LT1, rev matching manual or super quick shifting A8. The car is a quantum leap in refinement and performance over the C5 and Gen 5 Camaros.

I'm only saying because of all of the "oh I should've bought an SS" comments I've already read two today. I could've told ya that at "V6" on the window sticker.

There is such a thing as affordability and practicality! Sure, most would prefer the V8 over the V6, however, many can not afford the extra 10 grand for a 1SS vs. 1LT. The new V6 has 335 HP in a 3400 pound car. It is only a second off from the V8 in both 0-60 and the quarter mile. On the street, does that make that much of a difference? The ZL1 is coming soon with at least 640 HP...I wonder how many 1SS and 2SS owners will have remorse for not waiting for that one? If money was no object...I would buy a new Z06 Convertible!

I somedays regret not getting the m6. Then I watch a zo6 stall on a hill or watch a gt500 try to launch and smile thinking that never be me again. That and the wife has easy access to my private parts well city driving

I have huge remorse, chevrolet built a Lemon and has made my first new car purchase in my life be horrible, I will probably never buy a new car again, especially a first year build . Stick to my old truck and old cars many great things about the car but I'm not a test car dummy for GM . They should have tested this car before they released it or not let some under trained person do quality, Remorse absolutely But this is on GM

Seems to me that a V6 RS coupe would be a decent place to start running at road courses with. Sure, the SS cars will pull you going down the longer straights, but if you put only a little work into your RS's suspension/wheels/tires/brakes they won't be shaking you off their bumpers through the twisty sections. And you'll end up being a more skilled driver for when you do get your SS. Don't underestimate the value of this. Autointerests and other HPDE groups run at Mid-Ohio, which can't be all that far away from you. Norm

I owned a 2001 Z/28 the day I purchased my 2010 2LT/RS and I owned that 2001 Z/28 for 6 years after and I will tell you I enjoyed driving my 2010 far more then my 01 Z/28. In fact I only drove the 2001 a total of 5 more times in the 6 years of owning my 5th Gen. I finally sold the 01 Z/28 V8 and I still own the 5th Gen V6.
Its what ever makes you happy, the older I get the less and less I need the power 300+ is plenty for me. I am more about the creature comforts and less about the power we still end up at the same traffic light w/in a second or 2
