Read this whole thread and I'm intrigued. So has anyone had a chance to measure this setup for possible drop?

These dealers taking 3 days to install this kit are just pounding the pooch. I can see one and a half days, tops. That would be springs, bars arms, alignment and reprogram. I've done 3 installs of these parts short of the alignment and reprogram and had plenty of time in one day.
If they say they haven't done it so it may take extra time, find a new dealer. Nothing in the install is out of the ordinary. To be honest, the teach can lock in the front camber before he even takes out the strut. The rear doesn't even effect the camber. The arms aren't longer or shorter than what's on the car. When I installed my GM lowering kit I didn't do an alignment for two months and when I did I was still within GM specs. |

I still plan to put together a detailed diagram showing all the different points I measured before and after the suspension upgrade but I have been slammed at work and at home lately.
NET RESULT = 1/2 " lower all the way around on my 2017 2SS |

I included the alignment information as it can impact overall height.
I have noticed that the plastic pieces under the front fascia lip scrape a little when backing into my driveway if I don't cut an angle when pulling in. But its not bad. |

On your sheet you show the front measurement from wheel centerline to fender changed from 15.5" to 15" You also show a change from 6" to 5.5" from what I assume is a lug to the ground. That means you lost 1/2" above the hub and 1/2" below the how for a total of 1" from fender to ground. Same with the rear. 1/2" above the centerline and 1/2" below the centerline = 1" total. Am I wrong? Thanks. |

If you compare a before number with an after number it is only 1/2 ".
The measurements are separate not cumulative. Center line of the wheel to the fender is the 15 1/2 - 15. The 6 - 5 1/2 is the bottom of the fender to the ground. |

I'm still not seeing it. In the rear your total height from ground to fender arch is 23.5" before the suspension (15 3/4" + 7 3/4") install and 22.5" after the install (15 1/4" + 7 1/4"). That doesn't make much since though since a suspension change only shouldn't make any difference in the wheel centerline to ground distance. What am I missing here? I agree that maybe it should be 1/2" total if you only take the wheel centerline to the fender arch but does that mean you changed wheel/tire heights as well at the same time (that would be the only way to change the wheel centerline to ground)? I just want to make sure I have all the info correct, Thanks!

OK that makes sense. I thought those smaller numbers were a measurement taken from a point on the wheel, not a point on the body.

He said the measurements are separate. axle to fender versus ground to chassis. Adding them up gets you no useful number.
***edit. simultaneously reply. 1/2" lower, good to know. Thanks OP.

Sorry for the confusion! That's why I wanted to put the measurements over an image of the car so it would have context.
My original thinking was to know the wheel gap change and the body panels to ground change. The measurements also provide numbers showing the front to rear visual rake of the car. |
