Well that's disappointing. You could try spraying a little WD-40 in the connectors, it's possible that's what mine needed, but I'm fairly certain it was the reset from the battery for me. It may just be that you unfortunately do have a bad unit.

I never liked the lag or response time when pressing on the gas petal. I did a little research on throttle controllers but not as much as I should have. So after Christmas I installed/programed the throttle controller in my car and it did make a noticeable difference in the response of the throttle. Not long after while out driving I got the Engine Power is Reduced. I stopped in a parking lot and when I went to crank up the car, that's when the message came up. I thought it was a one time occurrence but now it does it all the time. Things that I have done to try to fix the issue: disconnected the the battery and reprogrammed the controller, 15 minutes later Engine Power is Reduced. Took the Throttle Controller out disconnected the battery over night and still have the problem. Hooked up a Code reader and now showing C0242 and P0601. Never had an issue/codes/engine power reduced with my car until hooking up the throttle controller. I can't even drive it now because it keeps going dead. Now I'm lost and not sure what to do next. I would have it towed to a dealer but I don't want to be charged out the ass for the dealer to say it's this or that and not have the problem fixed. I have spent many hours researching on the computer and come to find out that this seems to be a common theme. For some no problems but for others they are left scratching their heads trying to figure what happened. I even called the company, not to get my money back, but to ask what have been the most common problems that have occurred after installing the controller. Just received an email from the company referencing a thread on Camaro5. I read the thread and the guy in the thread had never installed a throttle controller on his car. From what I have read on this site and many others that the product is the problem but I have been unable not found a common fix for the issue. Is there anyone that has gotten their problem fixed? is there a common fix or mutible fixes?

A few questions;
You have a Gen5, correct?
Have you removed the device and driven the car since? If so, for how long?
What do those codes come back as?

I know that with my car, I got the message and pulled over right away. After seeing numerous posts about the issue I was certain it was the controller. I removed it and continued to drive around. The message remained on but the car started to drive normal again. Later that day when I restarted the car the message was gone.

Yes it is a Gen5. Yes I have removed the controller, cleared the codes/battery reset, and I still get the engine power is reduced. I can't drive it because it keeps dying. It idles fine for about 10 to 15 minutes then the motor shuts off and the message appears. What ever happened is now permeant. Codes: C0242 and P0601
Thanks

Wow, that sucks. I'm not doubting you on any of this but I have a hard time believing that it's all due to the controller. It almost sounds like your ECM is F***ed. You might have to bite the bullet and bring it to a dealer. Looks like a very nice ride, good luck.

Like I said the car didn't start doing it until after doing installing. I just had a friend come, cleared the codes plus reset the throttle, and crap still P0601/engine power is reduced. According to his computer the PCM can't read either the gas pedal or the throttle body. Either sensors are bad or the PCM is bad. Know a little bit more about the problem but still got a ways to go. I have talked to several mechanics over the last couple of weeks and all of them agreed you should never put something inline with the sensors because your asking for problems, mainly electrical. Next time tune!

Double check the harness at the pedal assembly. Make sure it is tight and correct. I know, it's an obvious thing, but hey, we've all forgot to plug s**t back in once or twice. lol

I know at least 2 other people asking about the "Reduce Engine Power" on the Facebook page.. Ironically, both of them had the Vitesse throttle controller as well as the Pinoy Scorpion who started this thread and bunch of others on the forum.

Now there are a few I think I read that got it without the Vitesse but after a battery reset or shutting it off it never came back. Those who had the prompt, took off the Vitesse and no issues afterwards.

Ironic, isn't it..

I wonder if you got something in the harness. It's not going to be easy to see inside the connectors where it is, but spray some compressed air in there, then some WD-40 or safe equivalent and then some compressed air again to make sure it's all cleared out. Maybe you can get your phone in there for a photo to make sure no pins are bent/missing.

well, add me to the list of VTC users who have experienced the reduced engine power issue.
I had a 2016 2SS that I purchased a VTC for. Never installed it. Got a 2017 2SS and plugged the VTC, that I purchased for the 2016, into the 2017 (they are sold on the web site as fitting the 2016/2018 6.2L Camaro). 2016 ran without a single hiccup for 4,500 miles (without the VTC). Had the VTC plugged into the 2017 now for 3 weeks (about 700 miles) and have already had a mysterious key fob anomaly and the reduced engine power anomaly.
Disappointing. Dont buy one.

I just got the reduced power message, limp mode and a CEL. Removed the Vitesse and the reduced power message went away and drove normally.

Engine Power Reduced+CEL 2018 ZL1

Hahaha, how much I hate to say this.. But my car is in for service, and neither do I or the dealer knows why. Its a 2018 ZL1 6MT, has nearly 6k miles. Side note I installed a roto fab intake at 4k and did a secondary cat delete at 2k.

So I was driving to my friends, and about a mile out I got a notification saying "Engine Power Reduced." Then my car went into this superrrr slowwww acceleration mode. Everything else was normal besides the acceleration. Brought it in the next day and they said it was my wiring harness. Got that replaced and just the very next day it turned it on, and straight back came the same CEL "Engine Power Reduced," and so did the very slow accelerating. Just dropped it off, we'll see how it goes from here lol
