So there is a difference whether it is a 6 to 8 lane freeway, a 3 lane exit or a 1 lane winding road when it comes to doing 40 MPH over the limit. Must be legal to drive that fast if it is more than one lane I guess! This is so funny it is unreal that you think you were not in the wrong! One question for you. Do you know of anywhere in the USA that it is even legal to drive 85 MPH period an a public street or highway? I am asking because I don't. Since I don't get to far out of my state I know next state over I can legally do 75 on interstate and I thought that was pretty much maximum around the country.

Wow, I take that back. I just Googled speed limits and see Texas has speed limits of 85 and Utah at 80. But it shows Florida had posted limits of 70, still means you were 15 MPH over.

Now I just wished I lived in Texas!

Lol,i just came from there right now. Yeah,I completely understand,I speed on that road too. There 3-4 lanes and the only times there traffic is during rush hour or the weekend nights.people that go to tower shops would know.
Like I posted earlier, go to the old ticket clinic. That's your best bet bro.

Im not saying I wasn't wrong because I was. But 89 on a highway isn't that fast, all it is that's getting everyone is the 45mph posted limit. Honestly it's 45 now but they recently finished the construction on that section of the highway and will probably increase the speed limit in due time. We have a highway out in the everglades where people race and its not uncommon to see a crotch rocket or even cars doing over 180. I mean I'm guilty of it too. I've been over 135 out there. The only reason people are getting on me is because of the 45 mph posted limit. If I didn't say the posted speed limit and just put up my picture of the road(on page 4 I believe) and said I got a ticket doing 89 nobody would care.

Like if they thought I was going fast at 89, some of these members need to come down to florida to US27 in the everglades. I don't know if you know anything about that but people do well into the 100s and I mean WELL into the 100s.

As your mother probably told you , if all your friends were jumping off a cliff does that mean it's ok for you to?
Just because others are doing stupid crap does not make it ok for everyone to do it. The law is the law, if you choose to break it there is nobody to blame but yourself. The everyone else is doing it excuse is childish.

I seen the photo what difference does that make and I really don't care how fast you are going. Just quit coming on here pissing and moaning about it that you got caught. You make it sound like "well everyone is doing it so why can't I" attitude and you just come on here pouting that you got caught. Shut up and pay the fine, you are guilty. I could just imagine the thread you would have posted if you would have gotten caught doing 135 because "everyone goes out there on that highway and does well into the 100's". Unsubscribed!

If the cop said $500 then figure ~$1k with a lawyer. But that's probably cheap compared to if your insurance finds out. I would think 40 over would be reckless driving - surprised you didn't get towed. Maybe someone else mentioned some of this - I didn't read the whole thread.

Good luck on getting this all straightend out.
