The ported stock IM was doing okay but my logs were showing a kPa in the 96-97 range on some passes, that's when I knew the MSD was needed. My first logged pass after the switch showed the MAP was restored to 98-100 so the restriction was just about eliminated by swapping intakes. At that time I also swapped to a Circle D and lost 2 mph on the big end, the MSD gave me back the 2mph that was lost in the converter swap. The ported 95mm tb keeps me at almost 100 kPa for the duration of my passes now.

Yes, wr is weight reduction and long tubes.

I do, but it disagrees with everyone's dyno results of picking up some unreal power. It made about 7 peak hp more, and about 10 more at the top of the pull. Nothing really amazing at all from a header swap. These were with Hooker 1 7/8 headers, full 3" exhaust and no cats. The MSD and tb dyno was done with stock exhaust and a muffler kit.

These same headers are now breathing just over 530 wheel cam and bolt-ons. All corrections are SAE for real world numbers.

Has anyone seen these posts? It's got me gun-shy for the time being of going to the 95 or the 103 anytime soon.

I helped a buddy swap in his msd yesterday, and I have to say, msd left a lot to clean up on this intake. When I get mine, I'm definitely porting it..

I have mine installed on a stock ported intake, I used weapon x adapter and cleaned out a bunch of material, don't think ive got 95mm all the way through but it is portmatched and definitely wider all the way through, I've only driven it once like that and haven't adjusted tune seemed ok but were talking like 5 minutes of driving, not sure the ecu has adjusted to it... we will see im waiting to do long tubes and re tune before spring..

I too just got a 95m tb, and was trying to figure out the intake manifold thing and then I read this, everything come to a screeching halt, that article made me a little nervous. Can we get some tuners or data loggers on here to look into this?
