What stores plan on opening at midnight? I have mine preordered at BestBuy and according to their site as of now they have no plans on opening for a midnight release. Not sure about gamestop though.

I'm sure Gamestops will, I don't know about Best Buy, the only store I have here is Walmart, they're open 24 hours so they'll be for sale at midnight. However they probably won't have anything planned so I'll have to tell them where to look to find the games in the back.

Has any one else had any issues outputting to 1080 from the One? Anytime I select 1080p the screen just goes black and then it reverts back to 720p. I'm using the cable that is included with the One but am going into a HDMI 3 port switch were I have my 360 and dish network receiver plugged in and the Dish receiver outputs to 1080 without an issue. I have to test and see what happens if I plug it directly into the One working HDMI port on my TV.

Did you look on the support forums?

Looked it up and all I found was instructions on how to change to 1080. Haven't done to much research as I just now got some free time. Figured I would ask on here and see if someone else has encountered this.

What model of TV do you have? It almost sounds like your TV doesn't support 1080p, just 1080i.

I know most cable broadcasts (I'm assuming satellite) are 1080i, because the bandwidth demand of 1080p is too great.

I could be mistaken, but you could verify by your TV model's number. If it's an older TV, that could be the reason. If it's a newer TV, probably not likely. But just a thought!

I was going to say the same thing. It's either this or 1080p is too much bandwidth for the switch to handle.

Looked up the TV on Phillips website and yup it's only 1080i. I really would have sworn that it supported 1080p but now that I realize it, it only says 1080 on the top when I'm watching TV and not 1080p. Oh well I have to buy a new TV soon anyways seeing that my current one is from 2007-2008 and one of the HDMI ports broke (hence why I have the switch). Thanks for the help guys

Glad we got to the bottom of that. If you're looking to get a TV, get one that has a "game mode". It reduces input lag substantially. I purchased this a Samsung UN55F6300 the same day I got my XB1. It's fantastic! Here's a good review of this particular model

As long as you get a TV that has game mode it should perform well.

Thanks for the tip. Got a little while before I can buy a tv since building my desktop is next on my list. Actually just bought my two monitors and at this point the One looks better on them since they are 1080p. Got two Asus VS247H-P 23.6 monitors and they are great and got them for a steal.

As for a TV my requirements are 40 inches, LED, a Samsung or Vizio brand, of course 1080p and at least 120Hz refresh rate and I'm looking at spending about 500-700. Probably will try to get it around the end of this year.

Samsung UN40F6300 should fit the bill.

I use to play my 360 on my monitor, it worked out pretty good. ASUS does put out some nice hardware.

Same thing happened to mine. I unplugged the HDMI from the console and plugged it back it and it worked.
