Nice work, I also do my own rotations and wheel off cleaning & coating. No trigger happy kid is going to hammer on my lug nuts and over torque the crap out of them. Nothing good comes of that!

Started doing an Oil, filter and tire rotation. My garage is kinda small, with tool boxes lining one wall and a smoker and my motorcycle on the other.

Finished the oil and filter change and started the tire rotation and found this, so I stopped. No reason to to do the other side. My camaro is a 2017 convertible with 30,000 miles on the original tires, which puts them at 5 years old.

Looks like I'm finally getting rid of these noisy run flats. Unfortunately, retired and fixed income. Looking at the BFGoodrich G-Force Comp-2 A/S Plus All-Season Radial Car Tire for Ultra-High Performance, 245/40ZR20/XL 99W or the Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus 245/40R20 99Y B.

I'm wondering! If I use some really strong rubber glue, duck tape and a large wood working clamp to hold it together until it dries, how many more miles could I get.

The correct answer is “0” miles!😂😂

You'll be happy with either of them.

Had the DWS06's on my '16 C7 2LT and the BFG Comp-2 on my '17 SS 50th 'vert.

I would give the edge in ride comfort to the Conti's (softer side wall) and the traction / handling nod to the BFG's just due to the stiff sidewall.

Both worked fine in the wet, and very light snow (although that was not something I'd recommend in a C7).

Appears to be a broken belt from an impact. Curb, pothole or steel plate; something along those lines at a sufficient speed to rupture belt. I see the signs of dry rot at the sidewall, but that is not the cause.

I have the Contis DWS06 Plus. We’ll see how they wear but from the dry pavement street driving I do, they handle extremely well. Good luck in your search. Always exciting to get new rubber. Just don’t let some kid take a screwdriver or metal scraper to your wheel weights, scratch & gouge your wheels then leave the #*%*! old adhesive, and hammer the crap out of your lugs with an impact. Another tire mounting common mistake is to take a tire in with minimal weights, only to get new tires and have a long line of weights simply because they didn’t have the knowledge or were too lazy to match-mount once the balancer called for excessive weight. End rant.

Washed her at the new "detailing bay" extension I had the concrete guys append to the driveway. Pretty convenient, now everything reaches and I don't have drag the pressure washer and the buckets and everything around a zillion times

On the same note, I began using Adam's graphene shampoo and graphene detail spray a month or two ago as an experiment, and they are looking good so far. The graphene detail spray is way better than their old "plain" counterpart, it leaves zero residue no matter what and adds more shine that lasts a bit longer.

Bought some dishwashing gloves to try washing the wheels more easily. Still waiting on choosing a set of wheel brushes, but this certainly helps cleaning the backside of the spokes.

Switching to my winter wheels/tires soon. When I do, I'll fully clean and ceramic coat these wheels. Just turned 1,500 miles.

Thanks. I considered having a shop remove, clean and ceramic coat my wheels, but thought better of it for the same reason. And even though a small bottle of the ceramic coating was $50 it was considerably less than what a shop would charge to do the work.

Yea, I was taking a short cut by way of some curvy Tennessee back roads, talking with my cousin over the bluetooth and slipped off the edge of the blacktop.

The dry rot is just one of the reason that I'm going to go with four new tires. Might go with new wheels too. I've really hated the ride of the run flats, so here's my excuse. Unfortunately, I have to sell the M1a from my small collection to pay for it. But the arthritis in my left thumb makes it easier.

I have those exact wheels on my '16 2SS (they're the '19+ style...bought them from a member here) and I use this:

https://mckees37.com/collections/ez-...z-detail-brush

It works great and gets between the calipers and wheel to do the inside barrels fully.

I coated my wheels with this:

https://mckees37.com/collections/sio...-wheel-coating

Two summers since I did it and it's still repelling stuff great! Doesn't hurt that I also swapped the Brembo pads to Powerstop Z26 pads either!

They worked great, super easy to reach in and around since each finger is separate. And they rinsed right off so they were always clean. That pic is after doing all four wheels and they were black inside the barrels when I started.

I was looking at Wooly wheel brushes from Chemical Guys.
