First event on the new RE-71RZ, it was a "Solo-cross" which is basically a regular autocross plus a tree. I'm running 335/30-18 on 18x12.5" wheels. The car is on MCS triples but is otherwise basically stock.
Looking forward to racing with @jwisjw this weekend at the Beeville Pro! |

Top PAX video from a regional event this weekend. Dialing in pressures for the RE-71RZ and they are feeling a bit better. A few little mistakes but was pretty solid otherwise.

![]() I got my MCS 2-ways upgraded to 3s this winter. They needed a service and MCS ran a 30% off sale, so how could I say no? So far I like them a lot, it's quite different from the single adjustable compression damping, it feels like it'll be significantly better for bumpy autox venues. I'm running the damping near minimums for street and autox, but will add a few more clicks for track. So far I'm running the front and rear with the same damping settings. I also got a wing and splitter and am trying to figure out if it's faster with different damping levels. Lap times are promising, so I think I'm headed the right direction. Also have a set of 335/18 Rzs, haven't used them yet...

Ahh, I bought a SSC-prepped BRZ for my Son to drive. I've driven it a few times, but I think the Camaro is more entertaining.
A bit off-topic for the thread- I drove on the RZs this weekend at COTA. With a car this heavy I really needed to be cautious on the out lap or else the tires would overheat near the end of a flying lap. Based on the GRM testing I think they'd be a good TT tire once they get to about 4/32", but at nearly full tread they just can't cope with the amount of energy the car puts into them. I think they are great for AutoX, just plan to spray like Yoks. I had to hustle the car through T12-T18 on the out lap to avoid becoming traffic for someone else, so the tires basically gave up in the carousel on this flying lap. |

Fast runs from this weekends Atlanta pro solo event. I didn't stick around for the challenge as i had a 13 hour drive home. New RZ notes. No more sidewall scrub needed, they were good from launch!

Back to dodging cones, here are my fastest runs from the Beeville National Tour. Super busy course, and LONG. Honestly a bit tiring, felt like I got behind in some of the transitions, was good enough for 2nd on index.

COTA looks great, I am looking to visit more tracks in the next few years. I just did a SCCA TT at La Junta Speedway, vid below... I beat the previous Prod D track record by 0.8s on a <1m track, so that's a good start to the year. There's another TT at Pueblo MSP in 2 weeks, if all goes well I hope to grab the track records at Pueblo and High Plains too.
The new dampers and aero are working really well, the car handles great. The EBC SR11 sintered brake pads are interesting. As they wear and get hot they make a lot of noise, but I think it's in conjunction with the DBA slotted rotors. You can hear it braking for the last turn. The 335 RZs do get hot after a while, way better than the old RS but I had to run 295/35 which is a huge difference too. My track tires last year were the 345/30 Vitour P1s, they can take a bit more heat than the RZs but not by a lot. Beeville course designer is making an input heavy course with a lot of visual noise. I'm all for creativity, but that course is a bit much. ![]()
