It wasn't long before I installed a skip shift eliminator.
For the most part it wasn't a problem, but when you least expected or wanted it, it would pop up.
Became very annoying and is pointless for the most part. Driving slow in traffic going from normal first to lugging in forth when you really want to use second gear.

EPA bureaucracy mandating my shift patterns, no thank you.

If it becomes annoying, I too would install an eliminator. I really haven't seen it, even in 30 mph zones with stop signs or lights every other block. Maybe due to I run first out a bit more first? I have only had it for 4 days, so I will see if it gives me issues, but so far none at all.

Yeah, in slow traffic around here I tend to shift into second at around 2500 rpm, seems to be the sweet spot for the skip shift.
With the eliminator, the warning still pops up, but no shift blockage.
Reminds me of money well spent in my case.

Revving out first a little more avoids the whole situation, but old habits are hard to break for me. Driving V8's my whole life I've found I use their low end torque more than rev them out.

You may never need the eliminator.

Yes, I tend to run 2500-3000 before going to second. I have seen the message pop up, but it has never stopped me going to second.
30-40 mile per hour roads I tend to like it revving a bit, it just sounds so good! lol

Hoping it does not rear it's ugly head and all is good!

If you baby the car around, yeah, Skip Shift will kick in. I had my 2014 1LE for 6 years, never bought any gadget, never had a problem with it, it only kicks in while shifting in low RPM, never a problem here!

Thank you. This car is a treat to drive.

Does anyone know how to turn the radio off (or mute) on start up (searching now...)?
Every time i fire her up, the radio is on and i need to hit the power to mute it. When i startup the next time it's on again...

If you press the center of the volume knob on the display it should mute, if you hold it for a second or two it should shut off the radio.
This is how my '18 works.

If I shut it down muted it will start up muted.

Skip shift and auto rev match makes for a great lazy man's manual transmission when needed Lol.

+1, whatever my radio is at, mute or off, it stays that when I restart the car. It is only on when I start if I left it on when I turned the car off.
