Now i'm totally confused, so the fix isn't JUST software, they are planning on replacing internals of the transmission as well?

Last status I heard was that GM offered only a software update (that tries to anticipate the problem and puts the car in limp mode when it's imminent, just to prevent the trans from locking up), stating that there was "no solution yet" for the hardware (valve) issue.

In the meantime, an aftermarket company started producing new control valves for the 10L80 / 10L90 that, they claim, resolves the issue. However, GM never acknowledged this and their service departments are not willing to use this third party hardware to fix the issue under warranty.

Let me know if there are new developments in this circus.

Is it a given that the wheel lockup will happen to all/most A10's at some point? There are many reports on this forum of cars with well over 50K miles, some over 100K, and presumably many of them are A10's. I've never read an account from a Gen 6 owner stating that their transmission locked up due to this issue. Makes me wonder what is the real risk?

I have been searching for over a week and all I can find are truck issues so far. I think GM is be overly cautious. The same with the fix as well. At the same time their customer service leaves a lot to desired.

Overly cautious while they refuse to fix a manufacutred defective part on modified vehicles with stock A10 Transmissions. Only to blame the engine modifications for causing damage to the transmission. I want to see them prove that in court under the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act.

All while everyone holds on to the belief that they will do the right thing. It’s good to want things.

Just a matter of statistics. There are/were about 1000 trucks with A10s produced for every A10 Camaro.

And with Camaro out of production, there is far is less attention-getting market value for the youtubers to cover an out of production niche car than the top volume, top revenue, and top profit product.

I agree, numbers I found are a bit different, Chevy has recalled approx 461,000 trucks with the A10, and 90,000 Camaros with the A10. That's more like 1 in 5. In any event time will tell. I just wish they would stand behind their product better.

I wonder how many people have been reading this forum about the recalls. Does anyone have an idea of that number, or do they keep track of that somewhere.? Whatever that number is, I have not yet heard one person say they had the problem.

No update on my talk with my dealer who said the regional representative was going to call me to discuss. I am also going to ask the owner of the dealership to discuss with me. Maybe if enough dealership owners start putting pressure on GM, maybe GM will finally come clean and pay for the fix sooner rather than later.

And these days the "guests" on this forum have been around 55,000 at any given time (some times it drops dramatically, but I think the server resets itself or the admin keeps rebooting the server because he is getting database error messages even though I have provided him the information to resolve this issue), some of these "bots" can hit the same thread thousands of times... Views on a "public" forum mean absolutely nothing... Look how many members are online right now (here it is, right now, "30", yes just "thirty members" are actually online right now, there is absolutely no way "members' viewed that thread over 18,000 times, not even 1,800 times... 500 times? maybe (50 members checking in 10 times)... This site is so over run with bots and the admin doesn't care, he wants "ad impressions" so he can cash his check... THIS is exactly why the forum I have run for the past 19 years have absolutely 0 paid advertisements, is NOT viewable to the "public" (or "Bots") and is completely "Member Supported", members pay a very nominal annual fee ($24.95/yr), the conversations are completely out of the public view, there are exactly 0 "Bot" accounts and the site actually loads, every day, every time any member tries to access it and it loads fast and runs smooth... No flashing ads, no bots, no spam posts, just a forum that works... This site is more interested in advertising revenue than in providing its vast membership base a platform to share information... The admin doesn't give a rat's ass about 6th Gen Camaro owners, he only cares about ad revenue... It's running forum software that was discontinued in 2009... (vBulletin 3.xx)
