If it’s the one I think, SS 1LE beat a PP2, but Thomas thought the latter was more fun to drive.

Yes. So while a car can be faster - it may not be as engaging/fun - TO SOME!

It is how "you feel inside" that matters.

True. You also have the Butt Dyno too. Like our Camaros are very quick cars but ride so smooth you don't really feel it.

My 2012 Coyote for example rated 0-60 4.6 seconds. Fast, and nowhere as smooth riding as the Camaro. My mustang "felt" faster because of this even though it's slower you felt it more though due to the harsher ride which makes it fun in a way.

That is what I like about the old 1960s muscle cars. You feel it all. Brute, not as comfy and smooth riding but that's the fun part about the car.

There was another review where the PP2 turned a faster lap but then had to be shut down to cool. That’s why the Mach I is a pretty interesting proposition. It’s basically a PP2 with coolers (which the PP2 shoulda had in the first place), plus 20 extra ponies, courtesy of the Bullitt engine tune and the Tremec 6MT from the GT350, plus some GT500 suspension pieces. So arguably it should outperform the 1LE on track, given how close the PP2 came.

Its easy to see which one is better, even with narrower street tires, the Camaro 6th gen "Alpha" chassis provides an oustanding and very well balanced handling performance.
FOMOCO in all their Mustang products always has to compensate their old chassis design with providing wider expensier track tires in order to be able to perform: Mustang GT PP2, '19 Shelby GT350, Shelby GT350R, Shelby GT500 CFTP and now the Mach1 track package, all of them have Michelin R compound cup tires, that on a DD if bad weather is present (rain or cold) they would be hazardous to drive on them, tramlining present on road groves and their tire lifespan would be very short besides being very expensive to replace them. The Camaro SS1LE and ZL1 ride on just GY Summer extreme tires that perform greatly in all type of weather, street or track, would last longer and with no tramlining on the road for less $. GM couldn't make it better for us, Camaro 6th gen is the best handling sport car for the $ thanks to its design, not just for its tires compounds.

Does this $64K Mach1 have rear Brembo brakes?

That's why Ford guys are always chomping at the bit to see the Camaro get discontinued. They had to deal with the embarrassment of the outoing 1LE post faster lap times than the current gen Mustang GT so I understand their hate to a degree.

Came across this review from a unbiased gm guy. Again I would buy one in a heartbeat. Who knows maybe in a few years when I sell my 1le???

Very interesting, I also noticed that the lap time of the Corvette C8 Z51 at LS per MT's Best driver's car performed by Randy Pobst is slower than the one previously posted by the 2017 Camaro SS1LE. That's amazing for the 6th gen Camaro
Corvette C8 Z51: 1:37.83
Camaro SS1LE: 1:37.77
Both of them on Summer street tires

The SS1LE can lap faster than the C8 Z51 but it wouldn't be faster than the also N.A. C7 Grand Sport.

Thumbs up

Here I share you some great videos that I was able to find of a Shelby GT350 VS a 6th gen Camaro SS1LE.

Seems that on long straights the Shelby gets away but the Camaro SS1LE is always able to catch up on the curves.
