There is no way they are putting a V6 in the new C8. I don't believe it.

Am I the only one that thinks a TT V6 isn't a terrible idea? Sure put the LT2 in the base/main trim, but why not have a TT V6 as a cheaper option? An updated version of the ATS-V's engine would fit the bill.

*Time for me to get destroyed by the V8 purists lol*

You know what they say, "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission"

I would take it with my eyes closed Reasons: cheaper insurance and gas, more than enough power and nice sound

What's the point of the TTV6 if it makes the same power as a NA V8? That was the problem with the ATS-V. It really offered no performance advantage and it was more expensive than the LT1.

The only thing I could think of is some people would view it as "better or more modern"

I think the ATS-V having a turbo 6 made sense because IIRC that is what it's main competition offered.

Oh they definitely went that route because it was the sexier choice. It left many folks scratching their heads though. I talked to a GM Engineer close to the project and he said they extensively tested the LT1 in that car and it was a beast.

Having driven several of them, I would never buy one. The TTV6 ATS-V felt sluggish and slow compared to the LT1 in the Camaros. It was fun to drive but nothing compared to say...a 1LE.

I am with you , they need to do it in the same way as they did the automatic transmission. Just claim the TTV6 will be faster and give it more HP, who knows maybe the average age for a Corvette owner may even drop to 50 with some new tech in their power plants .

Euro went TT 6 cylinder for emissions purposes. Not sure if that played into Cadillac's decision at all or if they just wanted a "me too" powerplant to compete with Europe.
