No, they posted a video of it doing 217 mph. Something no other shop in this country has produced yet. There are claims, but no cold hard data.

Kttxz06, you and I both agree and talk a lot on here. There's no need to reiterate how big HPE is and how much work they do compared to other shops. There's few to any performance businesses that would touch his market size and income. But with all do respect, that's not at all what anyone cared about in this thread. It started with people noticing how much a build like this costs from HPE compared to most other shops. Even from shops that are bigger and command a bigger mark up, nobody said you had to do it in your garage to compete with HPE's pricing here. We all know HPE's pricing markups and "gotchas" is akin to Ferrari and Rolex, now I'm not against paying higher prices for stuff if it's quality with a name behind it, I have and have had both of those brands' products. But that's just not the case for HPE IMO. They have a rough public history. There's videos produced very recently of HPE working over customers cars on their track, and many reports that they do this without asking the customers. Then there's the Viper stuff, and countless threads/articles on first hand customers and employees littered with info that would scare me and most others away.

All in all, do I think HPE is going to give you back a car that's junk? No. Most of what they do in the industry is solid. But, there's still skeletons in the closet that make me and many others just go elsewhere. Do I think that there are dozens of shops that with a owner/manager with a vision and some cash could EASILY blow HPE away in quality, pricing, performance, customer service, and more once they're big enough? Absolutely.
Well, I agree with you there on the cost. Even I agreed on that. Shoot, Matt can build me this for prob $30k instead of $50k. I just jumped on board when people keep on bringing up shit that happened 10-15 yrs ago. I just think it's time to let it go and give HPE it's due props for what it builds that's all. Nothing more, nothing less. I've already gone on record saying I'd never drop a dime there, but I won't get online and discredit his builds either. I think both can be done without saying he scams everyone to get to where he's at today.

I agree with that they posted top speed. If they post top speed they should post 1/4 times.

Well, I'd assume on street tires, prob a low to mid 10 sec. On Dr's. High 9's. We know they have the drivers to do it so. I'm more impressed with the top speed than what their 1/4 time would be. Had no idea the Zl1 had 217 in it.

A good mechanic and a good person aren't necessarily the same.
HPE did build a fast car. I would not do business with them. I was actually living in TX. when I started doing business with Ron and the crew at Vengeance over a decade ago. I have been there repeatedly over the years and they have always taken care of me and addressed any concerns that I had. They get my business based on results, and the fact that they have earned my trust. I recommend them to my friends, which means a lot to me.
I was living in TX. and trying to go fast back in the late 90's and early 2000's. MTI (Houston) was the shop that built my first car. I heard to many stories and complaints back then to ever try HPE. To me that's just risk mitigation.

I think you hit the nail on the head!! The exorcist the almighty demon killer is probably slower in a drag race than the demon that has an official time of 9.65. Thatd be my guess why they don’t post times. 217 is impressive but the zl1 runs almost 200 stock. So yea 217 is crazy fast on any car but not a huge deal to me. It’s called the exorcist because it’s supposed to be a demon killer but no proof. If your going to claim something you should prove it.

That was a hero run that 9.65. haven't seen a real world video of anyone even coming close. If anything, it's mostly low 10's. haven't seen anyone else hit a 9 second pass in the Demon yet. Stock.

And I'll go on record of saying...We won't.

The numbers don't add up with the car. Don't get me started on the Demon, lol.

I know. It's more............Mustang folklore. Dodge claims it's a 9.65 car. They need to put in a dislaimer. On prepped track, with pro driver, in ideal air. That needs to be on every single sales order.

*Expect in reality a high 10 second 1/4 time*

As a matter of fact, I think our Hennessey friend posted a Demon video the other day. I forgot the time. I think it was like a mid to high 10 sec pass.

Yep, just looked it up. A 10.80 pass from John Hennessey. Now, explain to me the 1.2 sec difference?

Exactly. And it’s complete BS that dodge gets to hold “fastest production car 1/4 mile, 0-60, and 0-100”. Like I’ve said, any other car that’s right behind their “record” (918, P1, LaFerrari, Bugatti, Koenegsegg etc.) I bet an owner could jump in theirs and get within .1-.2 seconds of magazines on first try and probably beat the manufactures advertised times. Can’t say the same for the Demon.

To be fair that was on the pump gas tune and couldn't use the transbrake.

Granted I don't see it coming close to a 9.65 even with the race gas tune and brake but it is worth noting.

Demonology dyno'd his at 776rwhp on the high octane tune. Gotta give credit to an almost 900hp car. Sucks it weights so much and is just a giant car to begin with.
