I feel terrible for his family. What a tragic loss. I've had my share of fast cars in my life, and I did a lot of really stupid stuff when I was younger. But I don't street race any more. I've had so many cars, especially Scat Pack Challengers, try to egg me on on the street. I've never taken the bait, nor do I care who's faster. That's what a track is for.
I couldn't imagine taking the life of my own child because of my desire to prove who is faster.

Not sure if it's fake, it's all over the news. A gofundme has been set, candle lights at the crash scene, etc just all recent.

The date on the story keeps changing on Yahoo. I looked at the ABC TV site and it showed the story as recent. Also, the GoFundMe page is up to date. If this is a 3 year old story, is it a scam to get money with the GoFundMe site? Disgusting if this isn't for a family that lost loved ones 3 years ago.

Another reason not to race on the street. And if you insist. Do it on your own. I cant imagine feeling responsible for that. Terrible tragedy.
I had an incident when I was 18 racing on the street, I lost it at triple digit coming around a sweeper on a highway racing a M5 with my GF in the car. All of a sudden there was standing water just pooled up in the road. I was completely sideways and for sure thought we were going to die, lucky for us, I saved it (best save of my life). That was my get out of jail free card. NEVER EVER EVER again have I done that shit. Its just not worth it. I still relive that moment and it gives me the chills. |

Help us out, here. Can you show proof that this happened in 2014? I can't find it anywhere and all the major news sites are saying this just happened.

I don't think they have definitive proof it was a race but "Witnesses said the car appeared to be involved in a street race when the crash occurred" Witnesses could be right or wrong; it could have simply been one guy showing off, but regardless, very high speeds were involved.

Good, they deserve it. That's so classless. I could care less that they were racing and they'd have my full sympathy for their loss if they didn't pull that classless move.

You look at the house, the car..... the need for a GoFundMe is questionable no doubt.
People who just lose their loved ones, at least in my personal experiences, aren't looking for money. They're dealing with the fact they just lost their loved ones. |
