Love for performance is ageless.

I am shocked on how a 19 yo can afford one of these on their own. I mean i could see it in certain scenarios but the insurance must be as much as the car payment lol

A 19 yr old may be driving a new ZL1 and even have his name on the owners registration but it is highly unlikely that a 19 yr old is able to afford the payments on a 60 some thousand dollar car along with the insurance and all of his other living expenses. Jr. could be unloading a trust fund, his mommy and daddy could be paying for it or he could be a drug dealer. Common sense tells you that the average 19 yr old can't afford something like this.

Blank Check

The dealer told me a story and confirmed by the Sales Manager that 18 year old walks in and has a blank check with the fathers name, fathers account and to buy whatever he wants. They sell a Corvette and the kid fills in the check. Salesman goes with the 18 year old and very poor driver. Weeks later the Corvette is wraped around a telephone pole. Dealer policy now is under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. My other car is a Mercedes and they sell a boat load of C and E class Mercedes to parents that inturn give to the kids. Kids in the area that I live, they expect it, not earn it.

A 19 year old won't have the credit to afford one. So there is definitely some assistance.

Key word there being "average".

Not right to generally disregard the entire age group, and restrict possible scenarios to handouts or foul play. Some are really good with budgets...self-made business people...or other positive attributes.

Not too long ago, a 22 year old bought a brand new ZL1 with his own hard-earned money. He put half down, financed the rest, and diligently payed each month with additional principal piled on top.

...That 22 year old was me. And I never heard the end of the half-joking "drug dealer" or "daddy" comments. And now...not for anything, I'm buying two cars within two months, and I'm hearing the same sort of rhetoric. Quite irritating, really...

Just let people enjoy their cars...if they do something stupid; then get judgmental.

Seen a YouTube vid the other day of this 16 YO kid buying a new GT-R... Of course his mom was with him, and made the comment that he had "worked so hard for it".... I guess he is one of those "hard workin" YouTubers with a billion subscribers...and apparently I'm in the wrong business.
