I think the GT350 sounds mean, I think the SS w/NPP also sounds mean, deeper and more my style, but it is only 1 part of the package. I can't justify the price premium on the GT350, I can afford a 1LE which might be able to out perform it for $15k less (give or take).
On the flip side I drive a '98 Trans Am, Full Length Headers and a Flowmaster in the back, I think it sounds good, but I still think the dual exhaust of a '98 Cobra or GT sounds better, I still wouldn't buy one because my TA will still destroy a comparably equipped '98 Mustang in every other category, and I think my TA still looks better. I think I have grown to admire and respect the competition for what it is. Without Mustangs and Challengers (and others) to compete against there would be little push for GM to continue to advance the Camaro the way it has, good competition breeds better cars and we (car enthusiasts) all benefit. Great time to be a sports car enthusiast.

Well.... I just listened to the two Ferrari videos, and when the car is revving the engine, it sounds like a Japanese super bike. Not at idle though. But, this makes sense since a lot of Japanese super bikes are super high revving 4 cylinders with a free flowing exhaust, and the Ferrari is basically two super high revving 4 cylinders hooked up to the same crankshaft with a free flowing exhaust. Listen:
While it does sound exotic, it doesn't sound as good to me as a crossplane crank engine. On the other hand, the GT350 sounds amazing (to me). But then again, it has a different firing order than the Ferrari flat plane cranks (there are apperently three different firing orders possible for an FPC engine, and the Ferrari and GT350 use different ones). Perhaps that is one of the reasons I like it more. But, it could be just a different exhaust setup. Last edited by whiteboyblues2001; 07-28-2016 at 04:35 PM. |

Maybe it's me but I think the GT350 sounds much better than the Ferrari's.

They both sound fantastic, issue I have with the GT350 is unlike the Ferraris, it can at times sound raspy. A guy around here (who I can't wait to run into) has one. At certain rpm's it sounds Godly, other times the rasp is just not that good….I think it needs an H pipe.

Up Here.... GT 350 is $75,000 LOL
and the only 2 GT350R's I can find, one is $90K and the other 109K.... ??? ADM ? I would guess the 1LE would be 1SS base ($43K) plus $7K (canada). lets say $50K. That is $25,000!!!! $25K LESS. You go enjoy your 350 that may or may not be faster on a track by .5 seconds. last year ZL1 was $65K and Z/28 was $80K (Canadian) If pricing stays close, We Win. Camaros $10K less that give the same or better performance.

Yeah of course, older Gen should be toppled by the new Gen. It was a reply to a comment of the GT350 being over priced. A little hypocritical to make that point considering the Z28's price was much higher.

Z/28 in Canada was 80K. GT350 is 75K and the 350R is $90K. 94K if you want a radio....

MSRP?!?! Why would Canada have different MSRP than the US(not talking CAN $ v US $)? Here a fully loaded GT350R is $67,500 before destination and the Z28 was roughly $75,000 if I am not mistaken.

This is true, but it doesn't help the guy buying the 350r. He's still buying the car way more then the z28.

Very true! Wish the manufacturers could do something about this ridiculous greed!
