you can do that, but only after you help me tune my setup... LOL. I've been running a straight 5% richer across the board and over the next few weeks. I'll pull LT values and send them to you. I have the exact same setup as you: MSD, front cat deletes.

Then you and I can look at intakes.

That is what I've been doing, but I don't know. I've been told that my HP Tuner has this function, but have not found it in the table. I can tell you the relearn is pretty quick. I see the tables change as soon as I do a mod or backoff from a mod. I'm new to Camaro tuning, but would speculate this is for fuel that can go anywhere from zero to 15% ethanol and thus needs to adjust on the fly so to speak.

If disconnected long enough the fuel trims will reset to zero. The ECM is always adapting the fuel trims at part throttle. It adapts very quickly and doesn't take hundreds of miles. The problem with cold air intakes and fuel trims is that if you end up with positive trims those positive values will carry over to WOT and potentially cause WOT to be richer than it already was stock. The MAF needs to be recalibrated if you want your car to be 100% correct.

So let me see if I've digested all this correctly. Basically Is Roto-fab saying that in order to get more power from a CAI a tune is required for all brands except for theirs or is theirs included?

Seems like going WOT right after installation may be a bit dangerous as well running that lean until it "learns." What I gather from this is, if increasing the MAF housing size, you have to tune.
To clarify, our system will not have this problem. There are ways to increase flow/power without a tune and our intake does just that. You won't need a tune, and it will perform well for you.
We posted this information because we saw someone suggesting back to back dyno testing on a CAI swap. It's important to understand this can result in misleading information.

I'm glad that your intake potentially will increase flow/power without sending the fueling mixture into and unhealthy area. Also, that it's not tuning through MAF diameter. When I consider an intake I'll definitely be looking your way first.

Secondary to that I like the way it looks as well. Would be cool if the band clamps were black but I understand that getting that at a reasonable cost may be a pain. Subbed to this for more info.

Here's the real test on that will show the airflow merits... show us the delta between a tuned stock intake and a tuned Roto-fab intake. This will filter out any MAF skewing influence and really show the airflow merits. If it isn't providing 10 HP or more purely from airflow it's not worth it.

TSloper, We appreciate the input! I'm sure similar testing will be done once this system is finalized.

CreativeDawn, you can absolutely expect a more aggressive sound under acceleration with the Roto-fab system. We have some sound videos in the works to compare Roto-fab vs. stock vs. a competing CAI.

Michael

Thank you Michael. Please send me a private message once the videos are uploaded! I can't wait for this comparison video from Stock Sound to the Roto Sound!

I'd like to hear the REAR-END SOUND form the exhaust tips though, not just the intake sound.
We've recently purchased a GoPro that should be conducive to an exhaust sound comparison! I'll keep you posted.

Have a good weekend!
Michael

I can't wait for this to come out! Torn between CAI and y'all, but if this requires no tuning, all the better!

No tune will be required. In fact, in over 9,000 miles of testing, we have not set a CEL. Our system is showing huge advantages over the currently available intakes, which we will go into more detail about upon release. As we've said before, we are closing in on final production of this system and it WILL be worth the wait!!

This is a configuration being tested today.
