Borla makes one for the Sonic and if bought through Chevy it has the bow tie stamped.
I am not a Borla fan so can't say anything about it personally but the SOF members who use it have positive reports. But if they cover the Sonic than I am sure they will do so for the Camaro. Laborsmith |

I'm interested in the cold-air intake but what kind of performance improvement can I hope to get? Being in school and then kids have made this 2SS my first fun car in a very long time, I'm not exactly modding out the Traverse lol. Has anyone done the cold-air intake with the Gen5, how did go?

Thanks for the tip. Also googling "cold-air intake camaro" showed a lot of results. Most seem to indicate a 8-15rwhp boost and its a fairly simple and less expensive mod. I think I might drive it for a while then look at what's out there for CAI mods once I get closer to the warranty expiration. The other thread on getting the paint sealant was a good idea was well. This is just a great place for information.

Ok Lots of posts on the aftermarket equip. I intend to purchase a 2SS at some point and I have not read all the posts on this thread so apologies in advance if this is has been asked and answered or is just a dumb question. With these GM accessories will it be possible to order the car with these "Performance Parts" or will it be strictly an add on that you have to purchase in addition from the dealer and change out yourself or pay them to change out?

I too wanted to use "Build and Price" so I sent and email and asked when it would be up and functional. They did respond promptly and informed me that they had no timetable on when it would be up and functional.

Build and Price should come on line around Thanksgiving Weekend but definitely before Christmas Eve.
In the past Chevy has been very slow in bringing announced performance part to market but has stated several times the intention is to have those parts available shortly after the first round of builds are dealer delivered. By slow I mean two or three model years later. Which to me is enough more than two or three months as to merit being called out for slow. Not to mention some announced performance part never materialize. Per Chevy, yes many these announced parts may be ordered as part of your SRE (customer) order. We shall see. Laborsmith |

Thank you for your assistance laborsmith. I assume GM's focus at this point is to get all the remaining 15's sold before they start throwing all of their energies at the 16's and therefore don't want to spotlilght the 16's just yet. As for the add on's , we'll just have to wait and see what they offer.

In the byzantine world of vehicle production, GM does not assemble a regular production vehicle on speculation. Every one is sold. To a dealer, as dealers are the actual customers.

I'm desperated to see if the 1LE sport package will come out and if Recaro or the competition seats would be available on the 6th. Gen SS. Also will like to know if for the first time the 1LE will be available with the automatic transmission. Can't wait to know.
