Bowlers can be a bunch of prima donna crybabies sometimes.

Was talking to some guys from the scratch league and they were complaining about how some guys averages are inflated because of a 'House Shot' being too easy. Like that's a bad thing? Uh............

People scoring good = People bowling = Money in the register.
People stuggling on a difficult shot = people frustrated = Less bowlers.

If I owned a bowling alley I'd put the easiest shot EVER out there. Taper the oil heavy to thin from inside out. Scratch bowlers are not the money makers. It's the guys trying to get good and it's the rest of the leagues who pay the bills.

Taper the oil so if you throw the ball too far out, the lanes are drier outside and will hook harder to the center. Throw the ball too far inside and the lane is oilier inside so it will slide. All tapers toward the pocket. Scratch bowlers can really be whiners.

One guy ACTUALY was pissed because he said lefties should have to be seperated. He claims that they have an advantage because nobody is playing on their line messing up the oil. And that's correct. To which I say SO BOWL LEFT HANDED THEN F***HEAD. And STOP crying about it.

It's true. So you can't bowl left handed? Oh well!!!!!!!!! Learn how to. I wasnt' born 6 feet tall with God Given 4.3 40 speed. So should I complain because NFLers have a better chance than me?

Ok...... so I got that off my chest.

I shot 241 and 232.

My son shot 146 and 148.

Remember we only bowl 2 games.

could be I guess. A lot of houses won't properly oil for youth leagues. They try to cut expenses. To me it's a mistake. Your son (and you) are more likely to want to go if you are doing well.

Well finally had "a" decent game and figured out my release. went 163-137-234=534.
Had the first 5 in the last game, then a solid 10 pin that i can't seem to pick up anymore, then strikes on 7-9. And then a solid 10 pin in the 10th that, like i said before, can't seem to pick up anymore.

That's awesome. I was self taught getting pointers from buddies.

I used to pick up probably 95 10 pins out of 100 if you counted them. I always threw a hard plastic ball at them (still do) straight as I could but now seem to always tug it. I bet I'm only at 75 out of 100 now.

One of the biggest tips my Dad would tell me is STRIKES will come SPARES you have to make. I am now passing this advice to my son. So while at practice we work on the corners with the first ball and then throw at the pocket on the second ball. Nothing like learning how to pick up spares to carry a GOOD game.

Spares are the difference between a scratch bowler and a handicap bowler.

That being said, I can spare all night long but I leave so many splits coming in so hard. I need to straighten my ball out.

Less agressive ball or flaten the hand out slightly. I try not to throw a big hook. I play more down and in. Play around 8th to 10th board. Let it go out slightly.

I have some vidoes somewhere need to look to post one up.
