DETROIT – Cadillac today announced a new generation of V-6 engines, led by an exclusive Twin Turbo V-6 that will be one of the industry’s most advanced six-cylinder gasoline engines. It leverages the latest technology to balance efficiency, performance and refinement in the upcoming, top-of-the-range CT6 luxury performance sedan

^^^From the first post^^^....

"Exclusive" could be interpreted several ways perhaps....but it sounds like a Cadillac only item...

I just want the new NA 3.6 in the Camaro even though I'd buy the 8. I'm guessing they'll drop it in there.

Sounds like LGW is exclusive for now, not LGX.

Yea I could see the 3.0TT being exclusive for Cadillacs sold overseas. But Buick might have some interest in doing the same.

It's funny. The author fell for BMW marketing tricks. Their 3.0 is a single not twin turbo.

I was hoping that Cadillac would annound the twin-turbo V8 that is supposed to be coming to the CT6, this time around. But, I understand it will come a bit later in the CT6 lifecycle. I also understand that it will be Cadillac exclusive. That powerplant has the potential to give Cadillac more prestige, and go against the European rivals. It has to be done right, of course. But, GM has been doing some great things lately, so I have confidence it will be done right.

450HP LT1 V8 SS

400HP LGW TTV6

335HP LGX NAV6

Perfect options list for a 2016 Camaro lineup, amazing! There is a nice seperation between each engine setup that will give buyers great choices. I'm gonna bet the LGX will give us 32MPG+ approx in fuel economy with an 8speed trans.

Sorry but the TT v6 isn't happening, it would make zero sense for gm to have a v6 that costs as much as a v8 in the same vehicle.

Usually they have exclusive use like the first year or two.

Except if Camaro customers truly make a buy decision using mpg. A couple years into the model run the new V6 development costs will mostly be written off anyway, and the recurring costs are spread across other products (worldwide) while the LT1 only has the Camaro + Vette.

I think we'll see the 4cyl at launch, then dropped after a couple of model years, at which time the TTV6 could appear. I really think TTV6 are targeted more at the sedan market since those buyers see their cars as a luxury commuter/DD and therefore mpg is higher on the list.

The way CAFE regulations are going, the Turbo 4 will be around for the remaining life of the Camaro model. The v8 will be the engine option to eventually be dropped later on down the road.

I've been hearing about government mileage regulations killing the V-8 since the 70's. Yet, GM just came out with an all new direct injected, variable valve timing, 6.2L V-8 that puts down 460HP and 465 lbft of torque, and gets 29 MPG highway in the Vette. I don't think GM built that to drop it in a short time. Plus there are three new V-8's for the GM pickup trucks (not to mention all the other brand's V-8 pickup trucks). Also, Ford has a new flat plane crank V8 in addition to their Coyote V-8, BMW has a newer 4.4L twinturbo V-8, and many many many others. So don't fear the death of the V-8. At least not yet... Just go buy one, and enjoy!!
