Also one thing that has just cropped up with this unit. I had to rent a Nissan Rogue while one of our cars was in the shop. One night coming home it was raining and as I pulled up to the garage door the R3 screamed that I was tagged with a laser. It happened a few other times with the Rogue as well when it was wet and I was close to a shiny vehicle (silver Ford pickup and a silver transport trailer). Scared the crap out of me. Other that that, I love it. Loved it more after turning off the X-Band.

X-band should be off by default. If it wasn’t then something was wrong or it came loaded with an OLD firmware.

And yes it can false laser under a few select conditions. One other unit suffers from that as well. Can’t remember at the moment. I researched the heck out of units before deciding this was the unit I wanted.

You can see in this promotional image that Chevrolet launched in 2016, the grill of the fifty is the same as mine, I think the difference is in the edition EU 2017 or USA 2016, here came 1 year later that edition.
Although I confess that I like the American edition more.

The 50th edition was build only 1 year. From end 2016 to mid 2017 it calls MY 17. Did you bought yours with the splitter? Normaly It came without as it needed a new homologation that’s also the reason for the grill. I changed mine to the US version.

I ordered mine from a dealer in Michigan. He sent the parts to Texas were we have a container. We ship all our parts from the US via a container. The next container will depart from Texas in 18 days. Do you know how many 50th are in Spain.

I have had mine for almost a year so probably older firmware because it definitely was enabled.

I researched the heck out of mine as well. R3 is definitely the way to go. I do regret not buying the Uniden power harness so I would have the remote mute button which I could have put around lower console somewhere. Not a biggie though.
